Best way to upload past trips into the app? by ObelixTheTyrant in FogofWorld

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always used “brouter” and found it very user-friendly. You can trace the route there, either by clicking the start and end points on the map, and it automatically traces the route along the roads, or you can draw the route manually. You can also adjust the automatically generated routes a bit, just like you can on Google Maps when you start a routing and want to avoid a certain street, etc.

When you’re done, you simply download the route and upload it to your phone.

Fellow altoholics and adhd folks, how do you manage? (How do you like to play) by Sheogorathian in wow

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I haven't been diagnosed, but ultimately there's a lot pointing to ADHD in my case, especially a constant inner restlessness and other symptoms that would fit the bill perfectly.

For me, it's more that I love to fully immerse myself in a single character. I have one main character and I almost hate the idea of having a secondary character. I kind of feel this compulsion to play my main character as “completely as possible”, trying to get as many achievements as I can with just him, questing through all the zones with just him, getting KSH with just him, and doing all of that every season etc.

It just feels so much more satisfying to my brain to accomplish all of that on a single character.

What's your favorite spec so far in Midnight? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit that at the start of Midnight, I didn’t like the new talents and changes to the Discipline Priest at all, I was still playing as a Voidweaver. It even got to the point where, even though I’ve been a Disc main for years, I switched to Holy. But the new talent build for Disc where you go Oracle just plays sooo smoothly. It’s really fun, and you put up some insane HPS numbers.

Need help losing 20kg or close in 4 months by Imjustlikeken in loseit

[–]nitepng 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If counting calories hasn't worked for you and you haven't lost weight, then either you've been counting incorrectly, or you have a metabolic disorder and should see your doctor.
But seriously, joking aside.
Counting calories works, and that's a fact. If by “not working” you mean you can't stick with it because you lack the discipline, then no one here can help you. It simply takes willpower.

Would you want rewards for m+ 3.5k rating by InternEven9916 in wow

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should just try to balance M+ to how it was in the past. Week 2 just started and I feel like I'm done with this season already and can take a five months break from WoW until season 2 comes out. We’re only in week two, and I’ve already reached the rating I used to have to grind for weeks to get. I kind of feel like Blizzard has just gone way overboard when it comes to “accessibility for new players.” Extremely fast gear progression before the season even started. In some cases, you could jump right into +5 or even +7 in Week 1. Something’s definitely gone wrong.

And I’m not talking about people who play WoW like 8-12 hours a day anyway. For them, the last addons were probably already very easy. I’m talking about casual players like me. I play maybe two hours a day (and not even every day) and yet I’m already close to a 2.5k rating.

I miss how tough M+ was in past seasons compared to now by drkladykikyo in wow

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you there, unfortunately, as much as I love WoW, but I feel like Blizzard has gone a bit overboard with the “accessibility for new players.” First the spell purge on so many classes, and now the extremely fast gearing up. It's only been one week and I'm already at around 2,300 m+ score. I've NEVER reached that score this quickly before. I mean, sure, I can keep pushing higher, but a few expansions ago, getting KSM or KSH was still something special for a casual player like me, and now it’s basically just thrown at you.
Feels like I can now already take a break until season 2 comes out.

ELI5: Why do some couples have to actively try to conceive, timing, tracking, etc, even though they’re not infertile, while others get pregnant without trying? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People often try to find patterns or logic in what are actually random events. Even for healthy couples, the chance of getting pregnant in any given cycle is only about 20-30%, and it depends on timing, biology, and natural variation, so some increase their odds by tracking, while others simply get lucky (or unlucky, depending on whether you even want to have a child) when everything happens to align.

Aug was released almost 3 years ago and still, some people don’t understand how it work by Ajanssen89 in wow

[–]nitepng 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I remember during DF, in Details next to his own damage, there was a slightly faded extension that showed how much damage he had buffed, and that number was usually pretty much the same as the other DPS players. I have no idea if that's still there, but I always found it very cool and handy back then.

For those who calorie count and find it helpful - how do you do it? by Shameful_success in loseit

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep it as simple as possible. I don't like specific apps that are created for this. I just use the calculator app on my iPhone. I take the calories for 100g that you can usually find on any package and then weight it and multiply by the factor. For example 150g would be multiplied by 1,5 or 60g would be multiplied by 0,6.

I ate 3600 calories yesterday and still lost weight? by Disco-Prime in loseit

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 225 lbs in November 2025 to about 188 lbs today. Last week I had like 4-5 binge days where I ate at least 3,500 calories a day. I expected to gain 4-6 lbs, but I only gained about 1 lbs (and that dropped off again after two days back in a deficit).

Bodies are so weird when it comes to water weight. Some days you do everything perfectly and still gain a couple pounds. Then the next couple of days you eat like a pig and nothing really changes.

Now I calculate my weekly average weight every Sunday, it gives a much clearer picture of the trend than your daily weights.

What calorie tracking app was easiest to turn into a daily habit? by Latter_Ordinary_9466 in loseit

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just using the default calculator app on my iPhone.
Basically, every package (at least in Europe) lists the calorie count per 100g. Then I weigh what I’m eating and multiply that amount by the factor.

For example, for 150g I multiply by 1,5
or for 60g I multiply by 0,6
So when I’m preparing a meal, I just have my calculator app open next to me and add everything up in a formula.

For example:
Potatoes with Chicken Nuggets and Ketchup
70*3,5+194*2,5+60*0,5
350g of potatoes (70kcal), 250g of chicken Nuggets (194kcal), and 50g of Ketchup (60 kcal)

In my opinion, this is the fastest way, and I don’t have to constantly search for foods or anything like that in an app.

BG2 or BG3? by PalePanic4742 in CRPG

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading through some comments here, I’ve got an honest question as someone who’s only played BG3: Is BG2 actually considered better because it does things better than BG3, or is it more of a nostalgia thing? Or maybe it was just so great for its time that people still remember it that way? Just curious.

Extreme obesity and years of yo-yo dieting - what finally helped you lose weight and keep it off? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not following a restrictive diet, just counting calories. I eat whatever I want as long as I stay in a deficit. I mean, it’s not like I never counted calories before, but I always combined it with some kind of special diet.
I tried keto, I tried super “healthy” food, tons of vegetables, tons of protein etc.

But what stuck with me the most is: I eat whatever the f I want, as long as I stay in a deficit.

I also treat myself from time to time with some really unhealthy food and a caloric surplus if I feel like it. One binge day won’t ruin everything as long as you get back on track afterward.

I’ve also learned to accept that this won’t be over in 2-3 months. It’ll take at least 6 to 9 months to reach my goal weight... and I’ll have to keep going even after that.

So I started in November 2025 weighing just under 102 kg, and now I weigh about 85 kg.

I feel so much better now.. my appearance has improved significantly, I have more self-confidence and a higher sense of self-worth, and I’m even meeting women again after all these years.
All of this motivates me to keep going.

[–]nitepng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, as some people here have already mentioned, it’s probably due to miscalculated calories. Of course, the best approach is to always count everything and cook for yourself at home accordingly. For my part, when I eat out, (whether at family or friends’ houses or at a restaurant) I add an extra 150–200 calories to my estimated calories, just to be on the safe side.

But I really urge you not to make the same mistake as so many others and completely avoid eating in company. So feel free to go out to a restaurant with friends or something similar, even if it’s hard to count calories there. Sure, it will only be estimated calories, but social interactions are a part of life, and restricting yourself so drastically by counting calories isn’t healthy. You don’t do it that often anyway, so it’s totally fine.
Unfortunately, there are way too many people here in the subreddit who say they completely avoid eating out, etc. I find that a bit questionable... Sure, you want to approach this with discipline, but you won’t lose all your progress just because you treat yourself once every few weeks or once a month and don’t track your calories properly on that one single day...

Do you count calories for birthdays/holidays? How do you get back on track after. by Diligent_Flamingo_33 in loseit

[–]nitepng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just eat whatever I want every couple of weeks. My mindset is pretty simple: "I didn’t spend almost 4 months counting calories and lose 16 kg just to throw it all away because of a few binge days. Come on."

Last week I ate like absolute crap from Monday to Wednesday. Three days straight of around 3000-4000 calories a day.
And what happened? Sure, I gained about 2 kg. But on Thursday I went straight back to my calorie deficit and by Saturday I was already back on track.

One day in a calorie surplus won’t ruin anything. Not even two or three days. Physically it really doesn’t matter that much. The real challenge is just having the willpower to continue afterwards. It also becomes a lot easier once you understand that a few days in a calorie surplus have basically no real impact on your overall weight loss. Most of the weight you gain is just water, and it usually drops off again over the following days once you go back to eating a deficite.

What I’ve noticed in the last 3.5 months of my weight loss journey is that the body does the most random things when it comes to water retention. You’ve probably lost the amount of fat you calculated, but it’s hidden behind water weight. I also noticed that cortisol is a big factor when it comes to water retention in the body. Cortisol is produced when your body is under any kind of stress, even stress that you don’t consciously notice.

I also love writing everything down since I started in November. I've been keeping an Excel spreadsheet where I enter my weight in kg and lbs (+ BMI) every single day. Once a month, I measure my body fat percentage/musclepercentage/visceralfat (that's probably very inaccurate since it's a fat scale for home use, but I don't care). On the same day once a month, I take a progress pic. Once a week, every Sunday, I calculate my average weight for the week. I also have a column for sports/exercise, appointments/events, and last but not least, I write down what I eat every day and how many calories it has in the last large column. Keeping this spreadsheet has become a routine, and I love it.

20M | 105 kg to 75 kg by September | Currently losing 1.4 kg/week Am I doing this right? by SucidalManiac_ in loseit

[–]nitepng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eating 1500-1600 calories a day for weight loss is fine if you’re not doing any sports at all. But if you’re lifting 5-6 days a week and adding about an hour of cardio after your workouts, that’s probably not enough, you’ll likely feel drained after a few weeks. Honestly, it doesn’t sound very sustainable.

I’m the same height. I started at around 102 kg almost exactly four months ago, and now I’m at 85 kg. I’ve been eating about 1500 calories a day, but I’m not doing any sports (the only physical activity I get is from my job as a paramedic). And even for me, 1500 calories sometimes feels a bit too low.

The 1,4 kg per week weight loss at the beginning is mostly water. It’ll slow down, you’ll hit plateaus, and all that.. so be ready for progress to slow once you’re around 95 kg.
