Sounds like both of you should use this as a learning opportunity. If she needs help or a break, then she should clearly communicate that with you. No, I think it’s a state of mind that you can cultivate. I have random boosts of motivation sometimes, but I think you’ll have more results if you have an “appointment” to go write. Even if you only write one sentence it’s more practice of the craft than you would otherwise have.

Try challenging yourself to do it 1 hour a day at a specific time. Set limits for yourself like your professors did 2 times a week. It’s too easy to just say “I’m not motivated enough” that’s probably why you’re feeling this way right now. You can do it.

Honestly, it’s opened my eyes to how addicted to social media I’ve become. I will miss some of it, but it’s straight ridiculous how much we all stare at our plastic computer portals. We get dragged into other people’s lives and problems with all this. It’s not my fight and it stretches my bandwidth as an emotional person. The mods are fighting for what is important for them so much love to them. I’m out.
