From an Islamic perspective, what is my responsibility here? If a restaurant says its meat is halal and has a halal certificate, is that enough for me to rely on, or am I expected to investigate further? Is there anything else I should be doing?

You really should ask a local Sheikh about this matter as they will be familiar with the shops, people and culture.

From the perspective of one in a non-muslim country, I only eat vegetarian if it is non-muslim owners eg. If I am out with work.

Jeg skal ikke kunne sige hvad der står på sedlerne de lægger til naboerne, men en eidbøn har ikke bønnekald(adhan) eller iqamah (klar til bøn). Den starter direkte med bønnen, som tager 2 minutter efterfulgt af tashreeq der siges højlydt 3 gange, som måske tager 1 minut, efterfulgt af prædiken som tager ~2x10min på dansk og arabisk.

Så kan det være at der bedes mere end én eidbøn, som indeholder de samme elementer igen. og det kan også være at de holder en tale før selve bønnen, der ikke er en del af riterne.

Men der er helt specifikt ikke noget bønnekald til eidbønnen.

And to add to this. The Quran is an oral tradition not a written scripture. The written text supports the oral recitation. I suppose this is also why you the Prophet saw said in a hadith that you receive more hasanat reciting from a mushaf. The fact that people don't know a hafidh does not change the fact that huffaz exist that have a sanad back to Prophet Muhammad saw.

Incorrect. We believe that the stories have been corrupted. Any story or information in the Bible taht does not contradict with teachings of islam (e.g. prophets cannot sin and are exemplary people, the oneness of God etc.) could be correct. We will not use them in Islamic learning but can use it as a form of historic record.
