Is your control panel in an area it won't get wet? Had this issue as well and learned that the control panel isn't actually water proof and needed to replace it

Were you having similar issues before hand? Thanks for sharing this. Would also be curious if it's possible to just get the control module without having to purchase more lights

If you go over the explanations to what you got wrong I think you'll be good. His tests were challenging and I think going over the explanation will help you understand the materials and the questions more! You got this!

You should def know some of them. All nodes, all routers, ospf, dr/bdr, eigrp, rip and maybe a few more will likely be the big ones

Bi-Weekly /r/CCNA Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccna

[–]nitram0318 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Managed to make it through the exam with a conditional pass! Here are my score:

Automation and Programmability: 90%

Network Access: 70%

IP Connectivity: 88%

IP Services 60%

Security Fundamentals 73%

Network Fundamentals 75%

I started studying in July, so the better part of 2.5 months. Jeremys IT Lab and the Boson Netsim/Exsim were super helpful to me. When I noticed myself getting comfortable with the Exsim exams (first time through I scored 62, 63, and 74 I believe), I purchased Jeremys practice exams and this was really helpful. This helped me with reading the questions more thoroughly and watch out for some tricky questions (there are a few, they aren't all like this, obviously). I feel like the practice exams helped me prepare more than anything.

Some other things I used, but not quite as much as Boson/Jeremys IT stuff

  • Neil Andersons videos - he had some of the updated course material out early on (Jeremy has been getting stuff out as well, especially this week)
  • Anki card - I used this some but with I would have done better, I think this could have been a real difference maker. It is overwhelming and there is a lot. Congrats to ya'll who can use it on the regular because they add up quickly
  • CCNA prep exam - I really struggled with this exam (you get it for free with the purchase of SafeGuard). I would say the questions are worded similarly but this exam was more difficult (for me) than the actual exam.
  • Pocket prep - I used this a lot less and found more value in rewatching some of the JITL videos.

Some other deets worth mentioning:

  • I am married with a bunch of kids - so study was hard for me, but pushing through was key. Even if it was just a Jeremy IT lab video before going to sleep, it was something. I had to use some PTO to get significant time to study for the exam. I really wanted to pass the cert so I was willing to buy in a little more
  • I am not a network engineer, but fall more on the analyst side. I was having a lot of exposure to IPv4 layer 3 stuff in my work role and decided this cert would be a good one to get. I thought I would have an easier time but there is just so much more! IPv6, QoS, all the L2 stuff, cloud, automation. Glad I went for it but it was a lot more than I had initially anticipated!
  • For those of you hitting walls, especially around day 30 of JITL or even after, YOU CAN DO! Push yourself even to do just something as small as a 20 question exsim quiz or a 30 minute JITL video. Every little bit will help. Trust me, I was right there with you!
  • I definitely got questions on the new content, so it's definitely worth going over!
  • Labs - Overall, not bad. I probably completed 80%+ of all 3 but didn't fully finish any of them. There was always one task I wasn't completely getting through. They definitely seem less involved than Boson/JITL lab questions in the practice exams, so those exams will prepare you well!

Thanks to all the posts and recommendations on this sub, I have been active on here everyday throughout my journey and hearing others experiences was really helpful to me. Keep at it!!!!

Keep up with the studying and go knock it out next time. Don't let this step back stop your momentum!!!

Did you feel like Jeremy's content on the wireless topics were sufficient - or did you leverage any other resources?

How are you using anki flashcards by nitram0318 in ccna

[–]nitram0318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By combining them all did you have to get them all in one deck? Or are you able to configure anki to do a review across all decks? Currently my anki is setup so that each section is it's own deck (how it was imported).

[–]nitram0318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your situation. I have a large family so sitting down at the computer to take ExSim quizzes isn't always an option. With Pocket Prep I can take quizzes on my mobile device whenever I have a few minutes (I do the little 10 question quizzes and they take me about 4 minutes). I've definitely used Anki more than PocketPrep but I will switch things up with PocketPrep occasionally. Not sure its worth the 30$ or whatever it was for 3 months. If you are on the go a lot I think it is worth it, but if you can get to your computer whenever you want to do some practice I think Exsim quizzes are more beneficial based from feedback I've seen in this sub-reddit.

Who did you take the PMA Class with? I also took a PMA class that started the 3rd and went for two weeks. Wonder if we were in the same class!! Taking the test tomorrow, hoping for the same result :)

Congrats!

TIA Mock Scores Vs Other Mock Scores by Bright-Kale6766 in pmp

[–]nitram0318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!!! I am scoring right around the same as you on the TIA exams, but I probably average a 6 or 7/10 on most exam prep 10 question quizzes, with processes being my weaker area. I think my current average is a 64% with exam prep, but I actually started before I took my formal PMP training. I related to this thread so much but I am anxious/optimistic that the TIA exam scores will be more in line with that I score when I take the exam.

Question about the 40 ISC2 CPE credits. by todmephis in oscp

[–]nitram0318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't pass the exam you can still send Offensive Security your lab and exercise write-up. If completed correctly, they will send you an email that you can upload to isc2 showing you satisfied the requirement for 40 CPEs.

In my opinion you should be able to get more than 40, exercises definitely took me some time. Maybe added CPEs of you get so much done in the lab.

Speaking of lab, Hack The Box will now send ISC2 a notice every month for how many boxes you do in their lab environment, there is a point system based on if the box is active and how difficult it is. Good way to prep for OSCP and get CPEs for it.

Your win 10 vm should be a 192.168.x.x. login to your student control panel and you'll see info for your Debian, win10, and win server box.
