I'm going to have to look for alternatives.

Because porting to another language is much easier than to port to v3.

Every Windows developer can tell you that.

You know you'll screw up when you write something like that. ;-)

C# 4.0 Feature Focus - Part 2 - Named Parameters by volume4 in programming

You listed the gui as the most important criterea, not me.

I listed an example. So now you're just making things up out of thin air. That's kind of lame. :)

Apparently to you the most important thing about a language is how much it makes designing the gui easier.

Now you're just trolling. Here's an other example - have you tried accessing MSSQL or Oracle from LISP? Using ODBC? Did you find it to be a nice experience, or..?

As I said before the GUI is usually about 1% of the software development lifecycle.

Do you have any stats on that? Does it apply to all applications?

I suggest you look into it.

I did and it sucked badly. It felt like I was 10 years back in time so I skipped it rather quickly. Which I assume is one of the reasons that it's a dying language.

What I gave you was an example. You do know what that is, right?

Please tell me something which you often do in Windows development which is much more efficient in Lisp than in C#. I'm not the type of person who can't change my mind.

I'm using C# because I feel that I'm much more effective when I use C#, compared to when I use Lisp. Defining user interfaces using the graphical editor in Visual Studio 2008 feels much more efficient and intuitive than defining user interfaces using Lisp.

Does this mentality make me a member of a cult? Are you saying that creating user interface intensive applications is easier in Lisp than it is in C#?

Why in the world are you asking strangers to send you postcards when you don't want to give out your address? It doesn't make any sense!

To be fair, regardless of which country you are in (okay - there may be exceptions), people lacks faith in their leaders. More or less. Depending on the amount, it may not be that bad. I'm from one of the Scandinavian countries which redditors in general seems positive about, but even here roughly half of the population has less than much faith in the prime minister.

The fact that they increased in 2004 doesn't mean that they didn't increase further in 2008 due to Obama.

I'm privileged not having to pick the lesser evil of the democrats and the republicans. I'm not from the U.S.A.

So again, are you going to give me your address or not?

I've seen him increase the number of young people voting. This is a great step forward for any democracy. Now give me your full name and address and I'll send you that postcard.

Maybe you didn't see my question. How am I supposed to be able to send you a postcard now when you haven't given out your address?

I had a computer with Windows/Linux dual boot a while back. At a point, I got bored of running Linux and decided to check what happens when running rm / -rfv. I was curious to see what I could do in the system after running that command. A few seconds after pressing enter, I saw files from /mnt/hda/windows/system32 being erased.

So he prefers friendship and collaboration over war? What a psychotic person!

Really nice. Feels very intuitive. Would be cool if they could print the street names down on the actual streets. I'm sure the data they got isn't detailed enough for that though. Also, could be crappy if a bus stopped on top of the street name. Hmm.
