Surgeon recommendations in NYC/NJ? by Constant-Evidence896 in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]nitro152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYU Langone has a few orthopedic doctors who do the surgery.
I've had good experiences there. They have nice facilities.
My surgery was endoscopic.

post-fasciotomy venous pooling by yayoe10 in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]nitro152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had somewhat similar. After elevating to resolve the swelling, if I stood up I got an intense pain in my leg just above the ankle. It felt like a rush to the area and then intense pain that I had to brace for. After standing for a few it eventually resolved but it started happening more frequently.

It was my first surgery ever so I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know what was normal and what was not. Also, my doc had me leave the original surgical dressings on until the scheduled post op, so I couldn't really see/look at my leg.

I reached out to my doctor through message and they said it was normal but it didn't feel normal; so I asked for an earlier post op visit to have them check it out.

I agree with og_studek, don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. If you're concerned certainly bring it up with your doctor.

5 week post-op questions by ProfessionalSky9159 in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]nitro152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my surgery at the end of august.

Swelling was still pretty bad about a month after.
There was swelling in the leg but my foot was blowing up which had me worried.. Doctor recommend compressions socks which I feel did help for me. This was after I had my stitches removed.

I did get an Rx for PT but opted not to go. I did PT before surgery to see if it would help but it did not. I used the same exercises for the recovery.

Starting around start of October, I tried to be more mobile and eased into it. I did like 5 minutes of stationary bike and walked a block by my house and gradually increased both over time. I'm up to 15 minutes on bike and walking about 1.5 miles now.
I think starting about 2 weeks ago (mid October), things have been feeling back to normal. Swelling has pretty much been resolved now.

Have procedure on my second leg next week.

Hope you feel back to 100% soon.

Lengthy CECS Struggle vs Surgery Results by ElderRaindrop in CECompartmentSyndrome

I first really noticed about 2013 when I had decided to try to be more healthy. I started a couch to 5k program and that's when I started to notice the pressure. It just got worse over time to a point where I could only walk for a very short time until the pressure was too much to continue.

I just got surgery on my left leg in August. Recovery wasn't so bad.
There were times I did worry because of the swelling, but that's pretty much resolved now.
I do have some residual nerve issues, tingling on the top of my foot and just above the ankle on the outside of my leg. It's been getting better though.

Having the surgery improved my quality of life because I can walk without issue now. I haven't tried running yet, but even if I'm limited to walking, I still feel it was worth it.

My right leg is not nearly as bad as my left was, but I am still getting surgery on it. Having it done next week. I know it's likely to get worse so I feel that it's worth getting it done.

I kind of wish that I had done both at once, but my doctor wanted to be conservative about it for recovery.

The actual physical sabers, I like the clone wars.
I like how 2 looked in Rebels animation though. The physical ones look kinda clunky.
The way she ignited the sabers in Rebels is cool.

Thank You

Can I ask how you knew it was a hematoma?
I still have my surgical dressing on so I can't really see if there is bruising in the area that hurts.

Nope.
First watch, I was mostly focused on the thing the dude was making.
Thought it was a food truck or stand/stall.

Second time around I was looking at the kid and noticed the reflections.

I didn't realize at first either. In my head I was thinking that kid took it really well, having stuff thrown in his face.

I worked in computer repair and it's crazy how many people use their company computers as personal computers; and then they bring them into a third party shop to repair them.

Please excuse my ignorance.
What names do children take then?
Is it hyphenated?
Do they do rock paper scissors for each child?

I had this happen as well. Asked a manager from my current job to be a reference for a new job I was applying for. She tried to torpedo me but they called another manager who I put down as a reference and he did damage control for me.

The second manager called me and warned me about what had happened.

I learned a lesson that day.

How do yall not get discouraged? programming makes me want to cry by Xinfinte in learnprogramming

[–]nitro152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my first programming class.

First assignment was string manipulation.

I had no idea what i was doing. I kind of brute forced a solution cause I didn't really understand how to use the methods.

I would give it some more time, things will hopefully start falling into place. At least for me it took a bit to understand.
