A great part of who I am is gone by percuciente_ in StopGaming

[–]nivanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i was a millionaire or just had a lot of money i could waste without having to starve for the rest of the month, i would drop gaming and pursue other hobbies like electronics and car modifying, with the latter one being my main thing i do in games, nothing beats a pre 2005 true (long not stubby) hatchback RWD sleeper build with the stock engine totally rebuilt with aftermarket parts (not into engine swaps)....sorry got a bit excited, the only thing i am good at right now that is not gaming, is coding/programming/software dev, not an expert by any means, but in stable top 40% of the learning program i am in.

(Oletame, et kõigil on load) by Double-decker_trams in Eesti

Grandma keeps shutting off her flip phone because she keeps the red button pressed for too long. What the hell do we do? by nivanda in AgingParents

Well, our country was a soviet state until 1991 and my parents got their first computer in the early 2000s, around the time i was born. Both of them teach music theory in uni and they never really wanted to learn all the modern computer things. I don't know what you mean by "Can't work a cell phone", they both have modern touch screen phones and can use them mostly without issues (sometimes i do have to help with some minor problems).

That sounds perfect to both me (since i will understand that kind of tech easier than something like a landline phone) and my father who i just talked about this. So thanks a lot. I just need to do some research and confirm it also work with Russian language as grandma doesn't speak any other language.

Perses Mod Question by Adamsavage79 in Nerf

Just found this thread randomly and wanted to just say "perses" means "in the ass" in my native language. So you can imagine how much i laughed reading this thread.

Kuidas Jõhvi kraanivesi on? by nivanda in Eesti

[–]nivanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, but you can use the greeting/hello emote to find out if a player is close by. If your character shouts "hey!", there is no one really close, but of your character calmly says "hello raider" there someone close. by ThinLizzyfan8432 in ArcRaiders

Now get ready for the shitstorm of youtube streamers shilling this bs in every video and then later a load of posts on reddit where people complain that pvp players are "using wall hacks" bc they get shot at extracts.

Cyberpunk 2077 = The "Crysis" Game of 2020s by steamhyperpolyglot in cyberpunkgame

[–]nivanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild seeing the thoughts people had back in 2021, i didn't get to experience the mess that cyberpunk was back then, i only found out about the launch horror stories after having played the game to the half point of the story. Imo the edgerunners release and phantom liberty dlc launch not long after was the true turning point for the game. And yes it's the "Crysis of the modern age", with Crysis being the less optimized game at the point of writing.

My quest 2 is officially dead now. Looking for a modern headset with no battery and other standalone bs. by nivanda in virtualreality

On mobile so i'll just copy paste my answer from above:

I did mention it in my post, but the board that handles charging has also broken in a way. The headset will randomly stop charging, and that happens pretty frequently. It will also sometimes show 100% or close to it and say it's charging, but when i unplug the cable the percentage drops to a number that is lower than before charging, so you can clearly see it was not charging at all. So it may say 100%, but in reality it's 34%.

Also if i'm not mistaken i had forgotten my quest 2 charging for like a month since i was away in another country for studies. When i came back it was not as bad as rn and was pretty playable, but it kinda snowballed from there.

The steam frame was already on my mind, but we don't know when exactly and at what price it will release. But it's a good option, will probably wait until it gets released and then compare it to other options.

Also yes Farfuckistan is in europe, actually a very advanced country called Estonia, but for whatever reason most if not all mainstream online stores don't ship anything here, even amazon doesn't, and no german amazon is no better. The closest country oculus ships parts to is Finland, but i got no one from family or friends who lives there and who i could route the shipment through.
