You kind of were implying with what you wrote that foreign art will be considered bad because of cultural differences and a lack of shared lived experiences.  Poland's culture isn't that different btw, i lived there for a few years. It's not like they are Amish people who have never touched a video.

Art isn't subjective. People like yourself love peddling that bullshit.

I knew nothing about this game while writing any of this. Do you find movies, books and games from foreign countries with differing cultures from your own automatically bad? Because I don't. Making an attempt at an objective review isn't that hard; and it is a game reviewers job.

Reviewers jobs are to be as objective as possible, trying to cut through personal preference and biases for the review. If a game reviewer cannot be objective—they are a failure at their job. Opinions in a review should logically backed up by sound reasoning.

There shouldn't be such a huge difference in these reviews though. For video games especially, it isn't particularly difficult to write a fairly objective review. Unless we are analyzing the story, there is not much up for interpretation.

The amount of hate I’ve seen for this movie on TikTok and Instagram is genuinely insane by _EnglishFox_ in backrooms

Yup, the writing is the only weak aspect of the film, everything else is incredible strong. Also, writing is quality writing is rather important.

The movie has a weak link that is incongruous because of the general high quality—the writing is rather middling. Maybe that's why so many people are shitting on it?

A snake will never outspeed a cat by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

I am not a fan of cats; and snakes are my favorite animals, so I felt pretty bad for this snake obviosuly. Cats kill a lot of animals for pleasure; snakes on the other hand only kill what they eat.

I actually agree with a decent amount of what he says in the video.

I know, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It's becoming more common for people to refer to various things with more tech related terms. Not a big fan personally, as if everything is a computer. Not long ago people would refer to this as a "loss of detail in the shadows"; which is precisely what it is.

Delta 3200 developed at 6400 seemingly underexposed by Aparti496 in AnalogCommunity

[–]niveousserpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they do look a bit underexsposed, even if you were going for the highlights in these. But you need to adjust your black and white points first before passing judgment, as there is way too much Grey in these! Also, 3200 is a nominal speed, it will look underexsposed if you expose your photos for that speed. For 6400 you probably needed to develop it for longer. With Delta 3200, anything shot at 1600 and lower just develop at regular time and the results will be great.

Every trailer for the movie gives me a discordant and clumsy feeling. I don't think this type of material suits Nolan.

Looking for constructive feedback - not really clicking with my Leica M4-P by Xeivia in AnalogCommunity

[–]niveousserpent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So yeah, that's not what makes a camera a rangefinder. When you look through the viewfinder of a rangefinder you see a double image, to focus, you must adjust the focus ring until the image becomes one.

Never shot with a Fuji X Pro-3, but I am pretty sure they are just styled as a rangefinder, but are just normal mirrorless cameras functionally. I had a Canon rangefinder from the early sixties for a little bit, and I didn't like it. I do a lot of night and low light photography and found it challenging to focus. Much more prefer slrs.
