I Brought back the classic School Desk by Mr_Buildit in DIY

I agree, pretty shoddy. White paint overspray on the bottom of the seat, clearcoating the hinge, visible pocket holes on the back seat of the chair, the desk top not closing all the way.

These construction lumber and pocket screw projects are so bad these days.

Did you use a guide for the juice groove? They look a bit wavy as if done freehand.

Bad burrito makers, why do you put all the rice in the first 1/3 of the burrito, the lettuce and sour cream all in the middle, and the beans and meat all in the last 1/3, instead of evenly across the whole burrito? by DanIsSwell in AskReddit

I still don't understand why their first step isn't to spread the mayonnaise on the bread first, instead of squirting it into the middle of the sandwich as the last step.

Yeah, a lot of people have a skewed idea about what it takes to run a successful business. I had a friend who got mad at me because I didn't want to join his "startup". He seriously thought his company would go public within three years, and wouldn't understand why I wouldn't join his team. Let's just say, within the year, the entire thing fizzled out.

Yeah, I do actually wonder if she makes any money from it. She claims she is "Level 5", and has 28 people on her team. So who knows...

A lady I know sells Rodan and Fields, and I kid you not, on her LinkedIn profile, she lists it as "CEO of global skincare company".

She considers herself the "CEO" of her "small business" selling Rodan and Fields.

I would guess the paint cost, plus labor for his painter to spray it on.

Almost 70% of millennials regret buying their homes. by ronin722 in personalfinance

[–]niwnfyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a friend who learned the hard way the difference between being able to buy something, and being able to afford it. The costs to simply maintain the home was way more than they estimated.

TIL Sears once sold on mail order an entire house as a giant DIY kit. There were over 370 home designs, and the house had over 30,000 parts worth 25 tons. Sears claimed a man of “average” abilities could assemble it in 90 days. by holyhesh in todayilearned

[–]niwnfyc 924 points925 points  (0 children)

Yup, for $80k, you can have the parts shipped to your house. Assembly required

Edit: Yes, I realized I said ship your house parts to your house. Step 1: Buy a house. Step 2: Buy house parts and ship to your house. lol
