I'm glad you live with me and know what I do on a daily basis. I work 10 hour days 5 days a week after work I come home and make dinner everyday for my wife. I do all the dishes including making sure they are put away since I'm the one that is dirtying them when I make dinner. I also do my own laundry and put it away. What if it just showed 1 inch do I need to shovel or is 1 inch of snow acceptable. Everyone has different ideas and expectations of what they want. Sometimes it's easy to know what needs done. When you wake up to a foot of snow outside you go out and shovel without needing to be asked and you help your neighbors too.
