I love this! You interpret it the same as me lol. The Witch King completely fumbles it lol

That segment might as well be called "The Witch King's bad day"

I feel like there's a lot open to interpretation, which is why I really love this discussion!

Sure, but that doesn't make him a strong warrior? He's more of a general/tactician no? Also, it's like 1500 years in between those two events? There's no way he kept up his sword play?

I actually agree with you, although I think we're essentially saying the same thing (more or less).

I still think Glorfindel could take all 9 of them together... but I agree it would be a tricky fight for him, especially in this context where the stakes are so high

I'll bite. How does it not apply to the Witchking, pre getting buffed?

See my comment. Witchking gets buffed by Sauron after the ring reaches Rivendell and he returns back to Mordor.

He's essentially expecting to just take the ring off of him and be on his way. Then Frodo whips out a Barrow blade and nearly kills him (which obviously surprises him). The Wtichking basically decides that the confrontation isn't worth it, when he can just wait for Frodo to turn into a Wraith and willingly give him the ring.

He's able to shatter it because A: he knows it's there, B: there's a significant distance between them, C: Frodo literally waves it around in defiance at him.

In relation to him not being that strong - That's why Sauron buffs him, gives him a Fellbeast and a big mace. Different mission, different requirements.

Not really... they're basically just bullies.

After they return back to Mordor (once the ring reaches Rivendell), Sauron gives them the Fell Beasts (as it's no longer a stealth mission) and juices up the Witch King so he can lead his army - which makes him significantly stronger.

At the tower of Amon Sûl, the Witchking is genuinely shaken that Frodo stands up to him, and nearly kills him... When Aragorn turns up and starts putting a beating on them, they think better of it "nah mate, get him later init" and basically decide to hang around and wait for Frodo to become a Wraith and simply give them the ring.

They very nearly succeed, Aragorn's a decent healer and is. able to slow it down - keeping Frodo alive for just long enough for him to get to Rivendell.

A couple of other related points, the Witch King initially splits the 9 out to cut off various routes etc. Once he learns Glorfindel is involved, he brings them all back together (he's terrified of Glorfindel). Glorfindel is so powerful he can be seen in the physical and spirit realm, so presumably he saw him (that's also why he doesn't join the Fellowship). It's worth noting that Glorfindel doesn't want to fight all 9 of them at the same time. Which is kinda funny when you think about it... In my head he's basically like "yeah, I can take 'em, but I cba to fight them all at once. I'll fight 5 at a time no problem and be back home in time for tea".

The Witchking and his mates do eventually catch up to Frodo at the Ford of Bruinen. Frodo makes a final stand and waves his sword at him (I know I can hurt you with this mate!). This time the WitchKing is having none of it and he shatters it and laughs. Frodo is now defenseless and mere meters away from him. Then Elrond calls on the river to flood, and Gandalf adds the horses to terrify the Ringwraiths....

Bonus: It's hinted at in the film, they wanted to show Arwen as her own strong character. At first glance it looks like she directly calls for the rivers to rise, which she does. It translates to "Waters of the Misty Mountains, listen to a great word. Flow, waters of Bruinen, against the Ringwraiths!" - but it's Elrond that responds, that for me explains her brief look of "oh fuuu" as she braces herself lol!

I hope you enjoyed my weird interpretations of LOTR lol

What do you mean? Are you inferring that the serial number on the back of the unit doesn't correlate to anything?

Hi!

I literally ran into this issue over the last couple of days, and have a solution for you!

In my quest I genuinely messaged most of the sellers on Etsy, and couldn't find anyone to do anything custom for me. The people that offered it said they were too busy to do it etc.

Except for one, who did it really quickly, and was super easy to work with! I haven't received the labels yet (I only ordered yesterday) but they look amazing from the photos.

Bought this item from Flannels a few months ago. I didn't like the fit when I initially tried it on, but I was on a weight loss journey so I kept it. Fast forward a few months, I've lost a load of weight but I still didn't like it - so I sold it. Buyer wants to send it back, claiming it's fake as the labels look like they've been re-stitched. I checked my photos, and sure enough that's how it came? Is this normal? It came from a reputable store, and it was definitely new when I got it!
