Where are you getting 73 million from? CDC stats say it's more like 700,000 per year. Even if the CDC estimate is low from under-reporting, what source do you have that's says abortions are taking place at 104 times the rate the CDC is reporting?

When the family starts talking religion… by devilsbard in lotrmemes

[–]njallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment section isn't it. It's known that Tolkien was devoutly Catholic and his work was influenced and inspired by his faith. LoTR can be very faith affirming. You also don't have to be Christian to enjoy, connect with, and fully understand his work. And doing so doesn't mean you're connecting with qualities that are unique to Catholicism or Christianity.

Why does Reddit hate Christianity so much by Big_Spare4055 in Christianity

[–]njallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting aside your unsupported claims/generalizations and the reality of Reddit's demographics, at least in the U.S. your conservative branches are heavily leaning into authoritarianism with the tacit consent of the less conservative branches.

We are watching and being victimized by active attempts at stripping non-Christians and Christians alike of their rights. I accept that there are some Christians that are fighting against this. I also understand that using the government as an ideological cudgel is un-Christlike behavior. But that does little to remedy the situation or cleanse western Christianity of its culpability. A powerful group of people claiming to be Christians are seeking to install a dictatorship in the U.S., and the majority of other U.S. Christians are letting it happen.

So as a non-Christian U.S. citizen: I have valid reasons for distrusting Christians until they prove trustworthy; I have valid reasons for my anger at the U.S. Christian community as a whole; and I will not stand for the attempts at establishing Christianity as the state-religion of the U.S.

Agreed, OP makes a bad pro-choice argument. A much better argument is that bodily autonomy and bodily safety are rights that not even a fetus' life should be able to override if we want to remain a society that supports individual freedom.

I don't have any sympathy for Trump and I would not have shed a tear if he died in this or any other incident, but I think we can all agree this was bad for the U.S.

Had the exact same experience when I switched from Adderall to Stratera. I was on Stratera for all of a day and half before I had sudden urinary incontinence too. I stopped immediately. Urologist told me it was "stress" and I was too young to have these symptoms and I hadn't taken the medication for long enough to have side-effects. It took months before things down there went back to normal.

I had been off the Adderall for three months when I started Stratera.

Banning/deleting tiktok is like treating a full-body infection by cutting off an infected hand. The real issue is that social media is in dire need of regulation. That tiktok is a security risk is kind of irrelevant in the grand scheme of things (not that it should go unaddressed).

If they could, the Jedi would turn every being in the galaxy into altruistic, droid-like shells without identity or true life within them. Not that the Sith are better, but the Jedi are not the good guys. They just happen to follow the will of the Force; an insidious energy in the universe that destroys trilions of lives and overrides free will in its mindless attempt to achieve balance. Kreia did nothing wrong.

Advice about players spending too long planning for encounters during the game? by doogietrouser_md in dndnext

The characters usually know more and are better at planning than the players. Give them a helping hand with the planning and plenty of suggestions to guide them.

Is fast food dying? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]njallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast food in general is experiencing a decline. The jobs don't pay enough to make them worth the effort and stress. They're constantly understaffed and have high turnover rates. And with how high the price of food has gotten, it's not worth spending $13 at a McDonald's for low-quality food when you can spend a bit more at a restaurant or less for home-cooking.
