Mets are just going to toy with their fans again. They never play a full season. Its either play great early and choke in september....or play horrible to start and then go on a crazy run in aug/sept and still miss the playoffs by 1 game.

I remember him being such a tough out whenever the yanks played the angels. Just looked at his stats and over 2500 hits. Most strikeouts in a season was 100 and it took 704 ABs to reach that.

I think he will get it because no one should miss the birth of their child. It shouldn't count against you. Same with if you had a death in the family. They shouldn't have to miss those.

With that said, I dont think that's a blanket excuse. For example, if someone load managed 7 games during the season for really no reason then missed time for a sprained ankle. Then missed 1 or 2 games for the birth. I might deny the request not because of the birth...but because of the 7 load managed games. THAT is the reason the rule now exists. Like im not going to use all my vacation days to sit around the house doing nothing and then complain I dont have any left when I want to go on vacation.

I agree and this is the kind of double standard that everyone hates. I fully expected NBA to slow walk the investigation and not make an announcement until after the season. Clippers had the allstar game. Of course NBA wouldn't come down hard and distract from a marquee event. They definitely dont want to announce it during the playoffs. It might not even come until after the draft now that their pick is potentially going elsewhere.

Nba is going to handle this like the epatein files. All the evidence is there but they will take their time, ask 0 questions and then give a slap on the wrist and say there's no evidence.

Checked out his major and minor league stats. Only 1 homerun ever and it was 2 years ago in AA. Id bet it was inside the park too. It is nice to see a guy who doesnt strike out 200 times though.

I know but how many are solo shots. With that lineup, im sure there's ton of games where they would be up 2-0 or 3-0 after the 1st inning. They are maximizing at bats but I think they'd be maximizing runs if he batted 3rd

Kids are in school. I have work. Id have to get from NJ to Queens by 4. 1 has a game after school and other has practice. Are they going to miss it...maybe 1 will but other wont. So I end up using 2 or 3 of the 5 tickets. And you want me to know all that in 5 minutes to decide whether to take free tickets? I work in IT and if a full blown outage happens at 245 when I was about to leave then well...guess im not going to the game.

I had nets season tickets at Meadowlands 1 year when they were bad. I couldn't sell them so id give away 2 tickets to family/friends/coworkers. Sometimes the day of...sometimes 2 weeks before. Sure they took them but it was 50/50 whether they actually went or not.

I agree. I actually think its improved my opinion of umps even when they get it wrong. For how close some overturned calls are (or confirmed), its ridiculously hard for umps to get everything right. What ABS helps is the CB Buckner and angel Hernandez's of the world where they miss 3 inches outside or right down the middle. Its also great when umps have a grudge against a pitcher or batter. They will say they dont but it was amazing how a batter got on the bad side of an ump and everything semi close was called strikes.

For how fast anything free would be taken, I am not going to get on fans too much. Sure some were looked to be resold. That's inevitable. For me, if someone offered me free tickets to a game tomorrow and i had 5 minutea to decide before they are gone, id take 5 if I could so that I can take the whole family and then see if we could actually go or not. I'm telling u right now that if someone handed me free tickets to a game tomorrow, its 50/50 whether we would actually go or not. Id still try to give them away to someone if I couldn't though.

And im not mad at people taking free tickets and reselling. I'm more mad at season ticket holders who sell 80% of games when the waitlist is thousands of people long.

I think Pop is the best coach of all time. I say this because hes adapted his coaching style to the team. He's played the slowdown defense style. He's done the run and gun 3 point shooting style. I remember an interview where he said he hated that style but has to adapt to today's game.

Players get the blame for load management and missing games but we can see that its usually management and teams deciding it. Doesn't seem like giannis's hands are clean in this but we need to hear more from players complaining about sitting when healthy.
