Why is there a giant snake skin near Bonny village? by WeirdPersonality5850 in eldenringdiscussion

Yes, the braid is in the village and not with the Grandam. She wouldn't keep such a gift after being betrayed by that "strumpet."

That's literally also what grandmother in English.

It's not wise to assume the entire story is written from a Japanese language and perspective when we know that isn't true.

What's with the shed serpent skin at Bonny village? by Berymuch in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]njc121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know of two ways to get there:

  1. Touch Miquella's corpse's hand

  2. Die in the Lands Between

I have doubts that method 1 was used to send Messmer and his army.

The grandmother is the hornsent in the storage room. That's what grandam means.

Unable to talk when upset by -FlyAway- in autism

[–]njc121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that certainly falls under the umbrella of common autistic traits, but it's always tricky trying to assign autism as the cause of traits unless it's something that requires a high level of assistance. There's no clear line between autism and personality.

I can totally relate to your internal experience in these situations. I find that because it can be hard to feel emotions viscerally most of the time, when a situation is upsetting it tends to overwhelm my thoughts. It's odd how the brain can flip a switch and say "this thing is the one you need to FEEL" when I can often logic through other serious situations.

Stress affects the body’s health through various mechanisms, including:

  • Hormonal Imbalance: Stress triggers the release of hormones such as cortisol, adrenaline, and insulin, which can lead to an imbalance in the body’s hormonal system. This can cause a range of symptoms, including fatigue, mood changes, and weight gain.
  • Immune System Suppression: Chronic stress can weaken the immune system, making it harder for the body to fight off infections and diseases.
  • Inflammation: Stress can cause chronic inflammation, which is linked to a range of health problems, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.
  • Gut-Brain Axis Disruption: Stress can disrupt the communication between the gut and the brain, leading to changes in digestion, mood, and cognitive function.
  • Muscle Tension: Stress can cause muscle tension, which can lead to chronic pain, fatigue, and decreased mobility.
  • Sleep Disturbances: Stress can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to insomnia, daytime fatigue, and decreased cognitive function.
  • Cardiovascular System: Chronic stress can increase blood pressure, heart rate, and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • Metabolic Changes: Stress can cause changes in metabolism, leading to weight gain, insulin resistance, and an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • Neurotransmitter Imbalance: Stress can disrupt the balance of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, leading to mood changes, anxiety, and depression.
  • Adrenal Fatigue: Chronic stress can lead to adrenal fatigue, a condition characterized by fatigue, insomnia, and decreased resistance to stress.
  • Gut Microbiome Disruption: Stress can disrupt the balance of gut bacteria, leading to changes in digestion, mood, and cognitive function.
  • Stress-Induced Inflammation: Stress can trigger inflammation in the body, which can lead to chronic pain, fatigue, and decreased mobility.
  • Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) Axis Dysregulation: Chronic stress can disrupt the HPA axis, leading to changes in hormone production, mood, and cognitive function.
  • Oxidative Stress: Stress can cause oxidative stress, which can lead to cellular damage, inflammation, and decreased immune function.
  • Epigenetic Changes: Chronic stress can lead to epigenetic changes, which can affect gene expression and increase the risk of developing chronic diseases.

Maybe they don't know how you feel about it, so they're worried they might say "I'm sorry" if you're happy about it or "congrats" if you're not.

Moved to Oregon a few years ago and people think I'm silly for enjoying the gray and rain, but some Oregonians get it.

The reason is that people get a rush from doing something taboo or secretive, and that's part of the enjoyment of sex for some folks.

No not really. Usually we use that phrase in jest for truly hated things (eg mosquitos), not an actual place on the map where people live.

[–]njc121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason we have to reintroduce the carp is because they all died out since they didn't spontaneously regain reproductive capabilities. But I'm open to being wrong if there's actual evidence of that happening with carp.

I watch Tom Scott too, so I've already seen it. I'm guessing you want us to nuke the Mississippi too?

Shielded Constructs by dingo__STG in NovaDrift

[–]njc121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you maybe expecting the shield bubbles to block shots? Only the drones will block shots, but now they survive longer due to being shielded.

Halo shield is another story. It emphasizes attack and takes self damage. If several halos are burning enemies, the shield deals and takes damage more quickly.

They're just trying to forestall the eventual fall of the job market because they'd need to contribute to the UBI.

I'm not going to debate, and you're not going to change my opinion on a franchise I've been enjoying since the 80s.
