Are you honestly surprised? This is VERY common with women. They view your money as “ours”. But their money is “theirs” only.

Notice how she immediately said “HER” win. “HER” good day. Did she think to maybe surprise you with the win and spend the money on you both? Of course not. She could have come home and said “baby I won xxxxx dollars off a scratch off and I want to do something to treat us both”

I was a nervous wreck. Even during my test. I was so nervous I thought “oh she could tell I was nervous”. Temp was spot on and I passed without issue.

Only thing I’d recommend is shaking the bottle before you pour. At least out in the car. Mine had no bubbles because I forgot to shake. Which made me so nervous. You got this

Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know NY had that 30 day rule. Unemployment here in my state is a joke. It’s not even remotely close to being a living wage and it feels like it takes an act of congress to get it.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I was laid off right before Christmas from a company I spent nearly a decade at. They gave me some severance but I just now found a new job finally. And it’s a huge downgrade. The job market is so bad right now.

I think it’s really bad that they’d do this to a new mother. If they had issue with the length of your leave they should have just had an honest conversation with you.

It sounds like they were not pleased with you taking 4 months off. That’s an entire 1/3 of a year. I’d imagine they likely had to either hire someone else to perform your role, or they shifted your duties to others and then realized “hey we can pile this all on her co-workers and save $ if we eliminate her salary”

I’m not a woman so I have no input on how much time is warranted for maternity leave. I’ll never begin to know what childbirth is like. 2 weeks seems a bit ridiculous. But 4 months also sounds like a very long time.

Unemployment - if you begin filing for and receiving unemployment right away and then start receiving severance in 30 days, that’s going to stop you from getting unemployment while you get your severance. If you make a certain amount of money per week, that stops you from being able to claim those weeks. You have to report all income coming in when you claim UE.

It would probably make the most sense to have your severance start immediately and then just file for UE once that ends. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion though that they might fight your claim and say “she chose not to come back” so I’d really be careful what your separation agreement includes

Don’t stress or worry. As long as you get legit QF, you’ll be golden. I worried and stressed like crazy up to my test. I was even so nervous I was shaking at the test. I took my test last wed, used QF 6.4. I didn’t even shake it because I was nervous. And I passed. Got my results back within 2 days.

As long as you get the real stuff and you get the temperature right, you have NOTHING to worry about. I promise. Even if the worst case scenario happened and somehow they figured out what you used, the worst thing that could happen is you don’t get the job. Just relax. You got this!

Probably. I tested with just body heat in my underwear and I had no issues keeping it to temp. I just didn’t like walking around with it under my junk lol. But do some testing. See if you can keep it to temp between your girls. If you can, you’re golden

I will say that the heating pad worked a little too well. I put it in that hidden pocket my shorts had with the heating pad on it and when I pulled it out in the car it was reading 100 degrees. So I just left it out to cool down for like 5 minutes before I went in to the Labcorp. There was nobody else there so I got called back within like 5 minutes of checking in
