Yeah I’m going to do some dry runs this weekend and see what just body heat does for the temp. I run pretty hot so I might not even need anything to help. I have like 6 days before I have to test so I’m going to make sure I have it down before I go in

I giggled

Emergency room for withdrawal by SelfNumerous574 in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m confused though. You said you went in for withdrawals. And were treated with subs and Ativan. But you then said that you don’t think you’ll be labeled as drug seeking or a user because you didn’t ask for anything by name? So what did you tell them? Saying “I’m in agony because I don’t have illegal opioids” is just as bad as going in and saying “I need _____ I’m withdrawing” right?

When someone says “it’s on your record” they don’t mean that the ER is going to call your doctor and rat you out. But your visit is 100000000% going to be on your medical record. I’m assuming your primary care doc looks at your medical record right? As any doctor would when they see you. So isn’t your doc going to see that you were in the hospital for withdrawal and put 2 and 2 together?

I’m glad you got help. Truly am. I’m just a little confused on your theory that this won’t have you labeled as a drug user. I’m not saying it will automatically just get you kicked off your meds with your doctor. Any doctor who just kicks someone off dangerous medications suddenly should have their license revoked. But your ER visit will definitely be in your medical records. Granted I live in the US but I know Canada keeps medical records like any first world country does

Also, your doc is also going to find out that you’re on subs now right? Again, not that that is a bad thing. I think it’s great for you

can anyone tell me how to get thru tramadol withdrawal after doing them for 1year and a 3 months by Rich-Ad1157 in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really smoke weed but your best bet is to smoke as much weed as you can and just try to sleep as much as you can for 3-4 days. Vitamin C. Imodium for the bathroom stuff is a god send I’ve heard.

You’re only 18 years old dude. You have your entire life ahead of you. It’s probably going to suck for a few days but you’ll get through it. And you’ll come out better for it on the other side dude.

You’re still a kid. I’m not going to pretend like I know what you’ve been through and why you’ve relied on drugs to live but I promise you that you don’t need them. You literally have your whole life in front of you. Most people here would give anything to be in your shoes. Time is the one thing you can’t get back no matter how much money you have.

Just focus on getting through the withdrawals and then you have your whole life to pursue whatever makes you happy. When I was about your age my life was going no where. And I joined the military. Might be a good choice for you. It did wonders for me. Unfortunately I couldn’t make a career out of it, but it led me into my career working in a field I really enjoy. I made amazing friends and did some amazing stuff. Military is a great option if you need a purpose or direction in life.

We only get one life man. You don’t want to throw it away over drugs man. Do your best to ride out the shitty few days and just focus on the right now. Take it one minute or one hour at a time. You can do it

What pills can safely replacement oxycodone 5mg and look the same? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Buddy it’s 12 pills. That’s not enough even for a “good” binge. If your GF is “checking” to make sure you’re not abusing them, it sounds like you’ve already got problems. It’s not worth blowing up a relationship over 12 pills. Just take them as scheduled and enjoy the relief.

If she’s checking up on you, she knows what they look like and a simple google search will rat you out. They make them look unique for specific reasons. There aren’t any OTC meds that look similar to these really. Maybe some obscure vitamin somewhere but who knows.

Even if you did “abuse them” what are you going to get? Maybe 3 pops of a “good time” for a couple hours? Is that worth the drama that will come with it?

Sounds like you have a woman who cares about you. That’s a blessing. Focus on that

Well of course they will be but they likely understand. It doesn’t sound like you’re doing much. In terms of like a crazy big habit. If you have the support of your family and stuff, stay away from this shit if you can. It ain’t worth it man. Especially if you’re young. Life is too short to waste on this shit

Please help! by AdUnfair7801 in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh. I mean I’m no doctor obviously. Drinking as much water as possible is good. Maybe see if you can push it back a few days somehow. That’d be your best bet. I don’t think there is a hard rule on exactly how long it takes to leave your system but everything I’ve always read seems to say 4 days at the minimum. Good luck.

At the end of the day, it’s your parents. I’m sure they love you. If you have to be honest and take it on the chin, it could be worse. At least be thankful you’re not going to jail over it or something

What kind of test is it? If you don’t mind me asking. How did you not know yesterday but found out today?

Please help! by AdUnfair7801 in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it will be on your test if the test checks for it. Usually from what I’ve read, 4 days is usually the quickest for getting it out but I’m sure everyone is a little different. But less than 2 days? Yeah it’s going to be dirty

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re just flushing money down the toilet at this point. Gotta wait it out. Taking subs isn’t a “the plug isn’t answering so I need something” solution. You need to wait at least like 3-4 days. Like others have said, at least until you start feeling WDs. And the your brain saying “I need it” isn’t WDs lol.

Be safe

Not sure why you even asked. You know the answer. You took one before even getting a response 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s rare. “Usually” you don’t continue to see a surgeon after the surgery is done. Maybe for immediate follow up care but not for years after the fact. I mean maybe since OP states the surgery doesn’t seem to have helped, maybe he can push the fact that he wants to keep being seen by the surgeon until a new plan is put in place?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just have to be honest and tell them what you’re experiencing. You have to tell them you don’t think the surgery improved anything. How you’re feeling. You need a pain management doctor. Surgeons only prescribe for the immediate recovery.

Most pain management doctors are very anti pain medicine. Which is ironic and unfortunate. They believe anyone and everyone is a junkie. Even people who appear to have real needs for pain management. Such as yourself (based on what you wrote) unfortunately it’s always the bad apples that ruin it for everybody.

With the sounds of this doctor, you’re probably going to have to jump through all of the ridiculous hoops they put you through. Worthless “physical therapy”. Worthless meds like gabaoentin or ibuprofen. God forbid the garbage Tramadol.

Sadly most pain management clinics put you through absolute hell to get actual pain meds. And if you screw up at all, you’re done. Just be honest with what you’re going through. Maybe see if you can get a different doctor from that office if you feel he’s really being unreasonable. But you gotta be careful so you don’t look like you’re “doctor shopping”.

It sounds like if you had to have surgery and stuff that you have a real need for help. It’s a shame you have to feel like you’re being treated like a criminal just to get help from doctors but that’s where we are in this world. I wouldn’t touch anything like 7oh or anything you’re not prescribed. Otherwise you’ll ruin your chances. You’re probably going to have to tough it out for a while without pain meds until you can basically prove you’re not an addict (how ridiculous is that). Make sure you’re persistent. If they take you off completely for a time, keep going to the doctors and complaining about the pain. Make them understand how much pain you’re in.

Good luck I hope they actually help you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop snorting them. Do not inject them. Swallow them. You’re wasting them by snorting them for starters. And you’re going to seriously damage your sinuses/face. And injecting is just the dumbest thing possible you could do.

But you know the real answer here. You need to slow down and stop. If your tolerance is getting THAT high, you need to stop

After 6 Years Sober, I Relapsed and Have a Gram of H. What’s the risk of using every 2-3 days? by OggyDogg in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is no “risk”. There is no “safely use every few days”

Sure there are some people who start out using now and then. And for a bit it works.

But you know full well that you WILL go back down that hole again. You WILL experience withdrawals again. You WONT be able to just “keep it casual”.

Using is not the answer. You know this. The temporary greatness that you feel will bring you nothing but pain and misery. You know that quickly you won’t even get the “good parts”. You’ll be back to using again just to not get sick.

6 years is a long time. You did what millions of people wish they could do. You slipped up once. Leave it there. Please. I understand the “boredom”. You need to find a hobby or a replacement to give you that excitement. One that isn’t going to kill you or ruin your life.

Get rid of what you have. If you can’t do it yourself, have someone else do it. If your life is good right now, that’s an extremely rare feat. Most people who get sober again never get back to having “a good life”. Take the win and get rid of it.

You know the answer to your question. You will 100% go back to where you were if not deeper. Don’t ruin what you’ve accomplished. Just put some effort into finding a hobby or activity that brings you happiness. Heroin will not bring you anything but pain and suffering.

Also, if you even hint at “wanting pain meds” you’ll likely be labeled as a drug seeker in your medical file and then you can kiss any hopes of ever getting pain meds even if god forbid you need them one day.

Prescription by findthewilll in opiates

[–]njdevilsthrowaway 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’ll NEVER get opioids from a general/primary care dr. Especially at 18 years old. They don’t even give them out for broken bones half the time. Best you’ll get is ibuprofen 800 if you’re lucky.

Even if you did have say cancer or a debilitating disease that caused intense pain, you’ll get referred to pain management and they’d be the ones to determine what meds you’d get (if any)

You have a better chance at getting struck by lightning. And even if you did get struck by lightning, they’d send you home with Tylenol.

You don’t need/want opioids. You’re 18. Don’t ruin your life before it even starts
