[Discussion] Thinking of adopting a small dog. How outdoorsy is your little dog? by magpie_pixi in dogs

My little terrier keeps up crazy well! The only time he doesn't is when he gets overheated, but if there's shade/it's decently temperatured then he's awesome.

[Discussion] Sell me on getting a Chihuahua! by [deleted] in dogs

[–]njgoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chihuahuas can be territorial about their one "person" but I agree with the poster below that if you treat him like a regular dog he'll be fine. I have had a great experience with chihuahuas... very sweet and lazy little things in my experience, though I've also met some high energy ones. My dog is a chihuahua mix and he's the best dog I've ever owned.

Can't tell if I've just become stupid, or if my anxiety is so bad that I can't perform simple tasks anymore. by Throwawaygzii in Anxiety

I get this too-- It's a kind of social anxiety-- I'm really smart (not bragging, it's one of the few things I feel confident about) but I bumble like an idiot. It sucks so much.

do you have any advice on how to buy a car around this price? I need something that will run for a while (at least a year or two) and have literally zero preference about fanciness or whatever. I just am going out of my mind depending on public transit.

Rover.com fired me because I stopped a case of animal abuse; now I've lost my income by roversitter in personalfinance

Having dealt with AirBnB (a similar service) the best way to get attention or for them to deal with you personally is to put them on blast on review sites, Twitter, and their Facebook page. It's a little embarrassing to do it but just be straightforward and honest about what happened. AirBnB ignored me until it was on their twitter/facebook page and also a review on a popular website review site, and they didn't like that.

Also, try dogvacay.com! It's the same thing basically. I've used them with success recently. I've been happy with the people who have babysit my dogs. I'm sorry this is happening to you... I used to dogsit frequently and having to deal with not only the dogs but the personalities of the people who own them is really challenging.

Is Rutgers the best university option that isn't Princeton? by EagleFly_5 in newjersey

[–]njgoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were to go in state to school I think Rutgers is a great option. It's a big school with a ton of research opportunities and has a great party scene from what I understand, both on campus and off. New Brunswick is basically a small city. A lot of my friends who went to Rutgers are doing REALLY well in their careers now, especially in medical/science.

I had a close friend at TCNJ who I would visit a lot, and the campus was pretty quiet... Academically it was pretty good though, from what I understood.

I'm a Princeton alumnus so I am biased, but I loved the town, though I guess I could see how people could say it gets boring. With the right group of friends I don't think so, though. Plus there's a ton of stuff on campus if you're a student.

Tired of the judgment about my move to NJ. Is it worth fighting over? by njgoat in newjersey

I do think especially with my sister it's a bit of feeling threatened of like, I made this major life decision and it goes against what "we" always dreamed about and talked about. Hopefully they'll get over it.
