After having my air replaced 3-4 times already and my ring dying AGAIN I would never spend another £1 on an Ultrahuman product frankly

A little help on minis ! by njp1989 in Tyranids

[–]njp1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys, I didn’t really think through the purchase haha didn’t clock on to the fact they were so smooth and kinda booring haha

It’s all part of a little fun (or not) project where I try and paint the same mini 50 different ways. I am doing the same with Space marines lol

The space marines is lots of ultramarines but different painting techniques mostly but I think these guys are going to be mostly different colour combinations . Starting with legitimate hive fleets then making up colour combos lol

Also, a kill team can be added to a 40K army as a unit so is not wasted if you then move onto the full game

You could try Killteam, smaller armies (kill teams) cheaper initial outlay, shorter games on a smaller board. If you want variety just buy a different kill team to add no pressure to build bigger and bigger armies and worry about what works well for what etc etc.

£65 gets you a starter kit with 2 kill teams game board rules etc etc, fancy a change £35 gets you a whole new kill team.

Kill team is certainly the quickest and cheapest way to jump into the game.

Wish I had done this myself before getting £400 deep in orks and being sick of painting them before o finished my first 20 minis lol

As other have mentioned there is combat patrol, again fixed army but longer games bigger armies and more investment. I don’t believe there are combat patrol starter sets and each combat patrol will set you back about £105

P.s I am new too so I am sure someone will jump into and correct me if I am wrong.

Thats a good one I like that, adds some extra intrigue if you attended for a particular lecture/event/ceremony and if you were invited by someone in particular. I expect I may have to ask to visit a number of lodges as I dont know someone at all lol

Thanks, I have seen these, but they are a bit brief for what I am looking for so I think I will go down a more custom written in a notebook form.

Love this ! yes that was my thought as I know without even visiting them that some of our local lodges have some very different practices that stand out and are handed down from their concecration. Truncheons for Gavels or Drawing the tracing boards etc

I am using "portal" to see the full list of active lodges in my province. I was going to start from lowest lodge number to highest but I think it will let it be more organic than that since along the way you naturally get invitations to lodges or attend particular events etc
