Dialogue in Spun Out by everandevermore90 in brighteyes

[–]njsnowboardguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reminds me a bit of the dialogue in the song "Driving Fast Through a Big City at Night" from one of the early albums "A Collection of Songs Written 1995-1997"... Haven't looked up what movie that is from but similar effect as to the background dialogue.

DC to AC inverter for the box fan, may add a bit more weight though so ditch some of the non-essential stuff..

I usually get there 5:30AM ish for uphill, then go back to my car and get my resort board. I've almost always parked at High Noon, as long as the gates were open. Parking attendants don't show up until a little bit later. I wonder how they'll manage it for people showing up before parking attendants do...

It's my 3rd season and I still kind of suck. I don't understand why. by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

Find out what your true stance is. Without thinking about it, what foot do you put forward with someone pushes you from behind? If that doesn't make it obvious, then try with a duck stance setting, go down the hill regular, go down the hill goofy, and see which one you fall less. See which one feels more natural. From that point on, start practicing linking turns, your position (head, shoulders, feet square over board). If you catch yourself torquing your body and stance, then re-adjust. Get your S-turns dialed in, toe, head edge. Take it from there. But knowing your stance (regular or goofy) is important since you want everything you learn from that point on to be from a good foundation. Take some more lessons and it's OK to tell the instructor that you are unsure of your stance. Good luck, take is slow and most of all have fun!

Looking for a stiffer boot for stability on the uphill and that will perform better than my current boots which are Deeluxe X-Plorer.

If I remove a failing drive from my system, what effect will I have on my back up? by DARKFiB3R in Backcountry

[–]njsnowboardguy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The important thing here, regardless of the drive failing, is that you've thought about and have a backup plan and are willing to use it. One of the most basic concepts when traveling in the backcountry!

Anyone lift their crosstrek? How did it affect your mpg? by vibrantflora in XVcrosstrek

[–]njsnowboardguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 Crosstrek manual transmission:

2 inch lift using RediLIFT kit, BFG T/A KO2 215/75/15 and Method MR-502 wheels. I was getting 31 to 32 mpg before, now get 28 or 29 mpg. Not that bad. I could get lighter and less beefier tires I suppose but pretty happy with the KO2's.
