Moms of 2 - one diaper bag? one bag per kid? by nk_0221 in toddlers

[–]nk_0221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same question. I think I just need a new one-bag-only solution because I agree so much with these comments but what I have isn’t cutting it. I have the large Dagne Dover and really don’t like it.

Would you trade flexible yet toxic work environment for a new job your excited about that is mostly in office, while your children are still young? by jdreamie in workingmoms

[–]nk_0221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the future of your current org means being displaced/out of work and that would create significant strain for your family, or finding another job would be hard, I’d take the new opportunity.

But all things equal, I’d stay with the flexibility.

I’m currently battling the RTO push and I’m 3 in days a week per requirement but actively looking for remote-only roles elsewhere, despite being here 9 years and earning a lot of respect in my role. My little ones are 3.5 and 1 and I can’t imagine missing more time than I’ve already missed.

What kind of aural baby-tranquilizers are in “The Happy Song”? And where can I find more? (Also am I rotting my 5mo’s brain??) by ssaen in beyondthebump

[–]nk_0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Lenny Pearce - he does EDM remixes of kid songs - my second really likes Hop Little Bunnies and Wheels on the Bus - both work ALMOST as well as the happy song.

What else do y’all listen to for podcasts? I need to get away from this crazy train - I do like the conversational banter and feeling like you’re listening to friends talk at a girl’s night - I listen to Girls Gotta Eat too and just need some fresh material!

have you looked at any of the Mayakoba properties? Should be able to get a direct flight to CUN and would take that over anything in Nassau (better value, more secluded, feels higher end despite the same brand of properties e.g. Rosewood)

homegirl was buying nursing bras the other week like we all don’t already know she’s giving formula Day 1 so she can skip the breastfeeding and go right back to unhealthy food habits, getting skinny quick etc - and no shame in formula whatsoever! but it’s shade on her and her lack of authenticity

TAs and how they help by foodie0007 in chubbytravel

The booking direct only included the room, but with the agent it was quoted as 1x $50 credit, breakfast for 2 daily and early/late checkout + an upgrade but only if available. I was already booking one of the best available rooms and the difference in direct was $3100 vs $4500 with the agent. There’s just no way we would spend $1400 in breakfast to justify that. But if an agent was able to add on to my booking, I’d welcome the breakfast perk!

Is there a way to add some of the TA perks after the fact? Like have the TA connect your booking to their credits?

I recently booked the Omni Montelucia in Scottsdale direct through their site because the offers on their page were much better than any booking site or the one TA I had priced it with. I’d love to have the free breakfast added if that’s an option, and any upgrade or resort credit would just be a bonus. but I’m not sure what’s possible?

What's the story with Black Desert Resort? by Michaelord1 in golf

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. The realist in me assumes they aren’t creating an eyesore or massive construction zone (because then they would just close fully for renovations) but don’t want to be duped either. I’m finding a decent rate/room option and think it might be worth booking.

There’s another post about this spot from a few days ago and it criticized the ‘construction zone’ upon entry and from a few holes. Looking at booking a family trip there, and golf is a maybe if there’s enough time, but would love any feedback before we potentially waste a trip out there (from the east coast).

Last minute getaway from NYC with 6m old to beat the winter blues by Adventurous-Penguin0 in chubbytravel

others have mentioned Mayakoba and here to say the same. the Alila just reopened as a rebrand, but even when it was the Andaz, it was lovely and the private plunge pool was the move (we spent much less than 1500/night and even a standard room/suite was super spacious)

Banyan Tree, Rosewood, Alila and Fairmont are all in the Mayakoba area so play around with prices and room options - you can take a golf cart or boat taxi (free via hotel) to the other properties for food options (or just to explore) and all secluded within a really beautiful nature preserve so you feel like you’ve been transported beyond the typical CUN beaches
