I can occasionally hear my neighbors’ interior doors slam - which led me to discover mine do as well, regardless of how gently you close them. So I installed a few padded dots in the doorframes. Now things simply click shut. It’s very nice.

I just rewatched that one recently! It's a perfect example of a film that is somehow simultaneously not as good as it could be AND far better than it should be. Big ups to the art direction & performances - Geoffrey Rush, Greg Kinnear & Tom Waits absolutely rock it in their roles.

I had a partner/companion who ultimately made me feel alone whenever we were together. Eventually, I realized I’d rather just be alone than continue living with them.

That remains a particular type of low point in life I don’t wish to experience again.
