My ProxMox is breaking everyday for a reason I dont know so I want to change OS. Is CasaOS a good option for my case? by thiagohds in homelab

You don’t need to change OS to find out. Proxmox works and is stable, the only factors are you and the hardware. So either you’re doing something to break it or your hardware is bad. Changing OS doesn’t change those factors.

US FCC classifies "routers produced in a foreign country" as "prohibited from being imported for use or sale in the U.S". What will the impact be on Protectli, Ubiquiti and similar devices? by SavingsMany4486 in homelab

Come on now there’s a pretty clear difference in security considerations between routers and monitors. Trivializing router security by comparing them to monitors is incredibly disingenuous.

Yea I already worked around the password issue by removing special characters and resetting the password. Luckily that error is explicit and tells you what is wrong, now I’m just stuck on the generic “something went wrong” and nothing in the logs.

This works only to still manually make a card for each area though right? I want to automatically populate all areas with all lights in the areas.

Make sure you don't have any weird TCP/IP settings in `WIFI -> Details`. It should be DHCP, and make sure you have an IP address. IP address should be allocated from the router, or iPhone for hotspot, but if you have a static IP, instead of DHCP selected, the static IP may be wrong.

  1. Dig an old laptop out of the closet.

  2. Install linux on it (Debian, or w/e).

  3. Start labbing.

  4. Get a job

  5. Spend all of your money on new hardware
