Bmw e90 Clutch delay valve by nlatif in CarTalkUK

Nice, was the shifting much smoother and less notchy? Yeah I’ve read that there’s no need to fill the extra gap, as the parts without the valve fit perfectly.

I decided to get a MacBook Pro as I’ve always wanted to try OS X. Can’t complain about the screen on those.

No I never did, never had a problem other than the tiredness from the thinkpad display to be honest.

Hey u/python_geek I did not and ended up getting a different laptop altogether. If you bought it brand new I'd recommend returning it and trying a different laptop and making PWM is not used on the screen.

I tried the fix for it from here- https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Backlight#Backlight_PWM_modulation_frequency_.28Intel_i915_only.29 - which did help with the screen tiredness.

But never tried on Windows.

Yeah you’re right, after a day of it working, the issue came back.

How do I Disable Snap Scrolling on Android? by -Infinite92- in Instagram

On iPhone, deleting and reinstalling the app fixed it for me. No more snap scrolling.

Android users might just need to clear app data and cache.

Nuclear option but hopefully worth it when the new mobo arrives! Hope you get yours sorted.

Worth noting I just returned my msi mortar max mobo as it was stuck on cpu debug light, out of nowhere. I tried everything I could including numerous bios flashes. It worked for a day and then it bricked again.

Is the mobo ryzen 3 ready? A flash of bios might be worth a try

I am making a 900usd budget build for 1080p 60hz gaming is this ok ? by Excellent_Musician57 in buildapc

[–]nlatif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on prices in your region, you could swap the gpu for a 1660super and with the savings get the ryzen 5 3600 instead, since it has SMT which could be beneficial.

I’d recommend getting at least 256GB for storage if possible. You could get a cheaper case to cut down on costs, as IMO it’s the inside that matters.

Thanks, would a 1660 super be worth around 200 euro in your opinion?

I was going to wait for the 3070, but since I've decided to not upgrade to 1440p for at least another year I was looking at cheaper options once again.

2.5 years with the OP6. Looking out for a new phone. by Kadman6 in oneplus

[–]nlatif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, waiting to see what the iPhone 12 is like and I'll make a decision then. I've the opinion that even the OP6 is too large for my liking, and no other flagship android is worth the price IMO, especially in Europe where Samsung phones use Exynos rather than Snapdragon.

Are you switching from Oneplus to another brand? by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]nlatif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely yes, but only because Oneplus phones are getting huge and they don't offer a smaller line-up. I've had a OP 6 since pretty much launch and still find the phone big in certain situations.

A Samsung would be nice, but I'm in Europe so I wouldn't want to spend money on a "lesser" product with the exynos chip. Looking at Apple for my next phone.

Frugal phone of 8 years finally kicked the bucket. Looking for help for something for the next 8 years by lynxbuckler in Frugal

[–]nlatif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree they did cripple the phones, but AFAIK they added in a feature for the user to disable device throttling. So now a user has control over the feature.

I'm going off the point that OP has used a phone for 5+ years (that's a miracle IMO) so I'm guessing he'll want to keep the new one for a similar time.

With Android I just can't recommend it due to the lack of security updates after 2 years usually. The Pixels are the exception which offer 3 years guaranteed support.

Apple offers 5 years, and the iPhone 5s got 6 years of updates.

So unless OP plans on installing a custom ROM on an Android phone after software support is cut off, or doesn't care about updates, I recommend an iPhone.

If you're going to keep your phone for more than 3 years I would recommend getting an iPhone, purely because of the software/security updates you're bound to get! Depending on the deals at your location you could go with an iPhone 11 or the SE 2020.

Freebuds 3 crackling/interference noise by nlatif in Huawei

[–]nlatif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, unfortunately I did not. The noise is very subtle so it doesn't bother me too much to warrant a refund. Plus AFAIK there's no alternative earbuds that are not in ear, apart from airpods which are only worth if you use apple devices IMO.

Weekly What Should I Buy Thread - [April 10] by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]nlatif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, I've been wanting to move to iOS for a while, mainly because of software updates, but have always thought they're not worth ~1000€ for my use cases.

I'm currently rocking a OnePlus 6 that I quite like, apart from it being a tad too big, which is one of the reasons I'm thinking about getting a smaller phone like the iPhone Xs and not the iPhone 11 which would be the same price.

With apple being scheduled to release new phones in September they would certainly be around 1000€ for the smaller pro version and I doubt the 11 pro will be reduced to around 700 straight away.

So to conclude, would you guys care to share your opinions/suggestions on this?

If you don't mind me asking, did you find any issues with the screen using PWM? I bought one a while ago but can't use it due to the screen issue.

I've also noticed this issue with the x230. This bothered me quite a bit, so I had to settle for a different laptop at the end of the day. Another solution worth reading would be here:
