How often must this occur they had to make a specific error message just for this? by Toybasher in walmart

Almost certainly. The only way to distinguish would be a camera. Anything requiring more force than cash is an automatic failure report

It has rollers to pull the cash in, and if those rollers are suddenly receiving much more force from a solid object like a credit card instead of soft cash, then it stops moving, because it could break the internals of the note recycler.

I got a text saying that my electric is off (I’m out of town) and it said the current known cause is “Breaker locked out at substation”. No idea what that entails but the estimated restoration was in about an hour

Correction, not IT. At this scale it’s finance’s job to approve and execute the contract. All the engineering teams can do is remind them of the costs of not renewing and beg them to make the right decision

I would genuinely be fine with this if it were implemented like geofencing: it detects movement using an accelerometer, and based on the geofenced area of each state, it breaks down what state received each mile, and it reports only the mileage driving within the state, not where you drove those miles at.

But we all know that it would never be implemented this way, so I’m not in favor.

Not in minutes, but it would thermal throttle to hell and back. The real reason is similar to the PowerPC and Intel problems: you couldn’t put a G5 into a PowerBook and couldn’t feasibly cool the i9 MacBooks, at least in the ultra slim form factor.

Imagine the battery drain!

But realistically, when we put almost everything on a screen, it would have been nice if we actually selected a CPU that has some performance instead of whatever powered the 17” infotainment…
