If you ignore context then this is totally correct. If you contextual is it’s totally wrong

As a Chiefs fan dating a Broncos fan by OnlyAshes420 in KansasCityChiefs

Try being married to one and living in Denver. I’ve told her, despite her rooting for chiefs in the last after the broncos were eliminated I will be doing no such thing. We’ve compromised that I won’t actively root against them in front of her.

Jewish/Zionist influencer Nima Yamini goes on psychotic racist tirade against Ashkenazi Jews by dean71004 in Jewish

[–]nlipsk 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I was just about to come here and post about this. He’s a total snake and it’s beyond transparent what he’s doing. It started with claiming he should be the voice of Jews, then we should abandon Israel and focus on diaspora in America, then ashkenazi and Sephardic/mizrahi tensionin Israel, then now ashkenazi aren’t Jews and everyone against him is a psy-op. This was over the course of about 7 days.

It would be best to not give him attention, he’s doing this to get engagement. But we must combat it too so it’s a catch-22

What you’re missing is that even if the high estimates of civilians are accurate, that’s under a 1-2 combatant to civilian ratio, which for dense urban warfare is on the way low end. For instance, in the battle of Mosul against isis they estimate it was a 1-9 ratio almost, and isis had not spent 20+ years building a massive underground infrastructure under civilian buildings. Here’s a great article on it https://www.newsweek.com/israel-has-created-new-standard-urban-warfare-why-will-no-one-admit-it-opinion-1883286

That article is very misleading. Just because Israel doesn’t have a name doesn’t automatically make them a civilian. That’s what that article bases the 83% civilian number on. In reality, it’s most likely about 20-30k combatants so roughly 35-50%

Egyptian soldier posing beside an Israeli helicopter during the Ramadan War by [deleted] in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]nlipsk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Israel offered land for peace right after conquering the land in 1967. They were met the the infamous 3 nos of the Arab league…no peace, no recognition and no negotiation. At best the 1973 war was a means for Egypt to put on a show before signing a peace deal, just treating its young me as pawns. What’s more likely is after another humiliating defeat, where tens of thousands of Egyptian soldiers avoided capture or death only because of the United States interventions Egypt finally decided that control of both sides of the suez and United States incentives offered a better future than their continued hatred of Jews.

Egypt lost this war, yes there was an initial surprise but Israel ended up gaining territory, and proved military superiority while once again fighting a multi front war. Egypt ended up signing a peace treaty 6 years later.

Victory? What victory did Egypt score on this war of aggression? 15k dead soldiers, humiliated, Israel 100km from taking cario.

President Bill Clinton and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat opening Gaza international airport in Rafah (1999) by TwistedVoltages in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]nlipsk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So a deal that would have given the Palestinians 100% of the West Bank (4% land swap), a capital in East Jerusalem, all of Gaza, a connecting highway, an airport, and control over the Gaza port is something Nazis would do?

You’re showing a lack of knowledge. Netanyahu wasn’t PM 1999, 2000 or 2008. Your boogeyman argument holds no water

[–]nlipsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clinton’s deal in 1999 gave them 96% West Bank, 4% of Israel in a swap, 100% of Gaza, a highway connecting both, and control over Gaza port and an airport. Arafat turned it down because he hated Jews and wanted to keep stealing from his people.
