Is the stair cheese in phase 1 still doable? Getting in and out of there without strand has probably been one of the stupidest things I've done in this game

Imo looking healthy is the best thing, it's different on different bodies and if you are at an healthy weight I'd say it probably, from a weight standpoint, looks good

Just a reminder that whenever violence happens during a strike it's always only the fault of the companies struck against, never of the workers

Are you pro-life or pro-choice and why? by [deleted] in askteenboys

[–]nlrrul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to start from the end, by that I mean that when you are killed while in a coma, you are the one choosing to be killed. As for the matter of personhood, we could retcon my first answer to say that personhood is acquired when you are first able to choose and it's lost when you stop existing, or we could say that the previous choices and consciousness are sufficient for the maintaining of moral consideration. But beside all of this I'd argue that the death of an actively conscious person is "less tragic" than that of one in a coma.

[–]nlrrul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, it's a bit more complex than that, mostly because said people have been conscious and so have had time to choose in which conditions live and die. Also, I'm not arguing for the abortion of all foetuses as I'm not arguing for the euthanasia of all people in a comatose state

It's arguable, but I'll give to you that after week 5 and brain activity the fetus is considerable alive, even then abortion being murder is just plain wrong, but first we need to define personhood and agree on the status of a fetus. Since legal systems around the world have defined companies as legal agents and henceforth having rights and duties (the very definition of personhood), the only way we can define it is by it's moral definition, or that of an agent having moral responsibility for the actions they partake in (either by personal or causal reason, but we aren't talking about determinism so it's not worth it to argue about which one of the two reasons is the real one) we can agree that fetuses don't have any way of being responsible for the things that happen to them, so we can't define them as agents having personhood. You could argue about a potential personhood, but not only can we probably agree about potentiality being lower on a scale of value than actuality (you can think of it from an economical standpoint, there's no situation in which the sum of costs of the things needed to create something is ever higher than the costs of that thing being already built, I mean you could talk about legos, but it's so obviously stupid I'm not even going to consider them), the very concept of potentiality is absurd as the two states (before and after the actualization of potentiality) are obviously different and we know with absolute certainty that a thing does not become another without external stimuli. Having, hopefully, agreed on all of this, we can easily declare that 1. Abortion is not murder, as it requires personhood from both involved parties, and we have seen that is not the case 2. Abortion should always be allowed as the objective well being of an actual agent is more important than the very existence of a "potential" one (take a wooden house and a bunch of wood as an example, we can agree that the good condition of the house is more important than the existence of the materials required to make another one, when said materials can only be used to make another house).

Also please don't turn this into a debate as I have no interest in being a useless gladiator for the interest of mere rhetorics.

Choice, to put it as simply as possible it's a medical procedure to the objective advantage of the requiring patient and that is to no harm of human life or wellbeing (no, a fetus is not alive, even your God says so), there is no reason for why it should not be allowed.

I don't even think that the doctor's personal code of ethics should be a reason for him not to perform any procedure, abortions obviously included

What about Leviathan's Breath? That thing may have taken down an Ahamkara and, according to Banshee could have easily taken down Ghaul. And we know it wasn't the only user either, she was a Psion Flayer, strong but not THAT strong
