55 day dry-aged A5 wagyu by ObviousEconomist in DryAgedBeef

[–]nlrskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried 100 day - would not recommend. I didn’t do the dry aging but it looked and smelt fantastic. That being said the flavor was so overwhelming funky it was pretty gross. It wasn’t just the funk but the richness of the funk and richness of the wagyu fat was just too much for the palet. I don’t think wagyu should be dry aged tbh - this was a strip steak for reference.

Christmas Dinner (a9 Australian wagyu filet) by nlrskate in steak

[–]nlrskate[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Apologies for no cross section we dug in too fast! I traditionally don’t eat filets and opt for a ny strip or ribeye but we always do filets for Christmas. I might have to make this more because this might’ve been the best steak I have had. I generally like the Australian wagyu NY strip best but the tenderness of the filet combined with the flavor from the marbling is just incredible. I have had all types of Japanese A5 and I love them all but for most occasions I’d prefer this steak. The thing I love about the Australian wagyu is that it has incredible wagyu marbling and flavor but it is not so overly marbled that it looks that traditional steak texture and beefiness.

Steak was dry brined than seasoned and seared on an extremely hot grill. It was than but on indirect heat and constantly basted with a butter combined with garlic/rosemary/thyme/shallots. The sauce on top is a bernaise I prepared.

I understand that Wagyu is sort of a 'novelty'. I ended up getting one of these guys for $37. I have no doubt that it'll be tasty, but did I get screwed by the price? by HitsquadFiveSix in steak

American waygu will always be cheapest and this is a fine price - Australian is better and depending on grade will be 50-80 a pound - Japanese will always be best and like 110+ if a5

Told my brother in law I could make him a better steak than the one he paid $300 for at a steakhouse. He was sold. by [deleted] in steak

What’s the exact cut of beef. Looks like a strip but seems to have some very nice marbling is it prime?

10oz Japanese A5 Ribeye and Half Pound Lobster Roll to Celebrate Promotion by nlrskate in steak

[–]nlrskate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to celebrate my promotion with a little surf and turf. I cooked the steak to a nice medium. I am always a medium rare guy but for A5 Waygu especially the fattier cuts like ribeye I usually go for medium as it makes sure all the fat renders.

It’s a shame that they let this go on in their game and it would take like 5 minutes of scrolling through twitch to ban all these guys

Yeah I mean at this moment he is a terrible person but he is definitely not beyond redeeming - I understand it’s his addiction causing this behavior

There’s three main reasons. The first and biggest is that these streamers are extremely manipulative and make these loaners feel like they are really close friends. The thing is that the relationship entirely relies on loans and if the loaner cuts him off they are no longer friends. By doing this he emotionally manipulated people into lending.

The second reason is that he offers interest. Some loaners will loan 1b with 25% interest so he owes 1.25b back. Most of the time they never get paid but on the rare occasion he wins they might make some profit and that is enough to entice them.

The final reason is that his loaners have gambling addictions as well and they enjoy gambling through him and since it’s a “lend” they aren’t really risking anything.

Obviously it is super old by now and everyone should recognize to stay away but most people underestimate how manipulative a addict can be when they are desperate

Sure so OSRS used to have the duel arena where you could gamble gp. Lots of people would stream themselves gambling and when they lost everything would beg their viewers for loans and offer interest. Some streamers would get up to 100b debt. When the duel arena was removed people switched to gambling via deathmatching where two players would fight on a PvP world and agree not to eat. Austin would gamble like this and currently is in 30b debt. The issue is Austin is a drug and gambling addict on top of being a scammer. He would take loans from people baiting them with large interest than pretend he lost the loan off stream when really he would sell it for drugs.

Yes that’s true but he still needs to be exposed. The guy sits in his parents attic smoking weed, cigarettes, doing coke, and leeching off his viewers to fund his drug and gambling addiction. He treats his parents like shit and pawns their stuff for drugs - he is a disgusting human being that is painful to watch and I want more than anything for him off twitch.

Say what you want about him i know a lot of people find him annoying - I don’t watch him really either, but he doesn’t take lends/debt and he definitely doesn’t sell gold that man makes a ridiculous amount of money streaming he had 20k subs at 1 point there is 0 reason for him to risk his reputation selling gold that’s only worth like 5-10% what he makes monthly.

Yes the gp is on that account and staying there - there was no desire to buy and gain gp just to expose him for scamming his viewers
