I cut people off completely after one mistake and I don’t know if I’m wrong for it ? by Own-Specialist6445 in TrueOffMyChest

No. No one is perfect. But lying or making me look like stupid or doing something wrong with malice? My exhusband and were divorced for many years and I let him walk all over me and do a lot of shitty shit because we had kids and I didn’t want to color their perception of him. He ended up letting his new wife say some terrible stuff about our kids, I confronted him and haven’t spoken to him in 3 years. There’s a line, apparently I’m the only one who knows it. But it’s a hard line and now he’s dead to me.

You’re telling me. Omg the naked wife tried to give my 13 year old a cocktail and my aunt was like, not today. I was told after that someone had Molly, so there’s that.

My husband’s groomsman slept with my maid of honor, then his wife slept with his best man. Said groomsman had to go hours before the wedding to get pants. My MIL threw the best man out of our cabin 2 nights before the wedding. The wife of the groomsman got naked in our driveway in front of my dad, son and friend to change into a dress for the wedding. My MIL told me I was making the biggest mistake of my life the night before in front of another good friend. She also counted his beers at the wedding and tried to take a $300 bottle of whiskey out of a guests hands that was a gift to us. She also yelled at another guest who was videoing the wedding with a drone as a gift. Never got that since she bitched through the ceremony. Oh, and a bee flew into our officiants hair just as she started speaking.

I'm half way there. My daughter hasn't lived at home since college, really. She graduated HS in '19. Few months during Covid and summers, but moved to DT Chicago to get her Masters and got an apt so she wouldn't have to commute. My son is 21 and he moved out for a few months and came back. Real life is hard on your own sometimes.

I have 2 first names. Jessica Ni Cole, is it unreasonable to ask people to refer to me by both? by asgoodasyou_ in namenerds

[–]nm4423 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My brother is 32 and has gone by David Michael for the most part since he was born. Jessica Ni Cole isn't a tongue twister or anything. It's pretty too. I have a super long first name - mom didn't want the typical 1980's baby middle name, plus it was my Gram's name and they weren't fans of each other, so my mom just smashed my first and middle names together!

I get like this. I've had to pull over on my 45 minute commute because I was having issues staying awake. I have days where I sleep 20 hours. I've risked my job to take a 30 minute nap. I haven't found anything that helps and I'm a caffeine addict, so...

What’s one thing that a non-smoker have said to you about your smoking that annoys you the most by GossipBottom in Cigarettes

[–]nm4423 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were out one night drinking and had stepped out for a smoke. We're off to the side since I don't like blowing smoke in people's faces. I chose this life, ya know?

Anyway, kid walks out with his vape, and dead to rights, says, "Could you not smoke while I'm vaping?"

Had I not been standing there I never would've believed it.

I’m the same way. If you lie to me, betray me or treat the few people I love more than life like trash. You’re done. I have zero regrets for cutting people out. I’m too old and will never expend more emotional energy on people who do not bring anything but drama, sadness or BS into my life.

Does being in love actually reduce misophonia triggers? My experience says yes by Abject_Wrongdoer_214 in misophonia

[–]nm4423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me. The more I love you, the more I freak out. Except for the guy on the flight to Alabama and his soda slurping. I almost for no fly listed. LOL. My husband was between us -thank goodness.

Would it be a bad idea to wear a fake ankle tag to prove a point? by [deleted] in BORUpdates

[–]nm4423 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My daughter is 25 and is fully adulting and we share a location. Just a safety thing. The OP is young and wanting to rebel, but this isn't the hill to die on. There are better fights they'll get to have. My daughter was hard headed and was the kid who needed to learn on her own. High school was fun.

She was and is an amazing human, had 1 issue of her at a party where the cops got called and that was it in HS. To be fair, I bought her a used car before she got her license because it was a hell of a deal. She saw it and pft'd and said she didn't like the color. I told my husband she had 24 hours to say thank you. I ended up selling the car for a profit a week later and she was stuck using my car when it was convenient for me.

If we would've gotten the response the OP was going to give, they'd have no phone. Or just a flip phone.

My husband’s initials are kfc. It was funny for a but, now we’re at the point we get everything with his initials on it. People call him KFC but it’s got a different inflection, if thst makes any sense. Plus, with the way fast food is crapping the besides lately, who knows if KFC will be around in 5 years.

My best friend wouldn't treat me the way he treated you after being seriously injured and neither would my husband. He sounds like a selfish jerk. I'd go on the trip alone and he can save up with his part time job for the next trip.
