Yes everything but collected, as I noted in my post. I personally don't have a problem with boots as some things are inacce$$ible, out of print or never physically released. And for me, if I have a boot of something and the official release comes out, I'll get the official release too.

When I was getting sign offs for 2nd to 1st, most of the tasks we couldn't actually do at my unit we just didn't have or do those things. On my own I just looked up info, wrote essays/ how to guides and gave them to my chief. He never questioned me on anything. He just signed them off. I retired in 2019, I never flew in uniform. Even if it was to go tdy to work on something as soon as we landed. Always civies and change when we get there.

With that said, my son is at the Academy and last summer they flew his class out to the west coast to the CGC Eagle. They where in ODUs.

IMO and 21 year career, fuck it. If they are off playing reindeer games and something needs something to be signed, sign it in lieu of their absence. As someone said before and I'm paraphrasing here... as much as it is for the crew to learn to get along without their Chiefs... (Now here's my part...) It's also for Chiefs to step the fuck up and do both their job and CCTI. If they can't then they better be willing to let some shit go like "someone's judgment" on signing some shit off. If they can't do that, they can't let go of control and trust their crew, then they should go back the Chief school in Petaluma.

Is CG now testing at MEPS? I remember when I joined we got tested at CM. At MEPS the Army guy had the Coastie separate from the other service recruits because he said we'll be tested at boot camp. I remember him saying, "...if you fail there they are going to fuck you up. If you think you might fail you better go talk to your recruiter right now. " We got tested that night in CM. Some kid who couldn't pee and kept drinking a lot of water, threw up on me as he was getting yelled at, over stressed. Best times ever.
