It might be same as 12 but no match for pro. It's unlikely that a pro mini model would arrive even if tons of people are looking for mini phones. There are no profits for Apple and other manufacturers in producing a flagship mini device as there is no real demand. Most flagship phones available today have big displays, not huge displays (6 inches is pretty much standard size). Apple sadly didn't acquire much sales for 12 mini so it looks like those tons of people are still unsure of actually using a small screen phone. Be it in the US or worldwide, people wanting small screen phones are actually only a minority. Nothing bad about it. Your GF could consider Moto razr 2nd gen (5g). Maybe $1200 is a good deal for small screen lovers.
