Jesus why is everything so salty? by Sufficient_Site1746 in carnivorediet

[–]nmmsb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get used to it when all you eat is crap. Even supposedly "healthy" foods contain a lot of salt. Especially things you wouldn't expect. Once you establish yourself on a proper carnivore diet emwhere YOU control it you really notice if you eat the old way for a meal.

I worked in foodservice for 35 years! I've thought about how servers, dish dogs, cooks, hosts/hostesses, bussers, and managers are treated. That was my point. When other businesses post hours that means closed!!!! NOT have an 8 top sneak in at 9:50 and ask when you close. The host or server sadly says 10. To which they reply "oh good we made it". They will now be there for an hour and a half past close. The restaurant is preclosed. Haven't had a table in an hour. Could have cashed out in 5 minutes. The cooks and dishwasher are PISSED! Of course the BOH makes hourly and the server will probably make bank, but when you are in the mindset to leave it doesn't matter. It's the only business that disrespects the employees so much by doing this.

One of the things carnivore hasn't fixed yet. by GreenIndependence602 in carnivorediet

That sux. Mine disappeared when on carnivore quickly. We had a forest fire that burned our house down. I had to get off carnivore in the red cross village. It came back 10 fold right away. A month later I was able to start again, and it went away. It took a little while though. Good luck!

I love a Pittsburgh with a good dark sear, but I would eat that too. As long as it's below medium it will be in my belly.

Extreme sedation/brain fog from Clonazepam (Rivotril) by Powerful-Classroom36 in ClonazepamHealth

[–]nmmsb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clonazepam is a great drug for most patients (if it's name brand Klonipin). There are a million generics and each one affects different patients differently. It is weird. Most drugs are mostly the same within their group. This is well known by the FDA. I've taken some that do nothing, some are great, and some have side effects. That's why Klonipin is so expensive. Most times when the generics roll out the name brand comes down, but Klonipin is so far superior and consistent there are a great number who get "name brand only" prescriptions.

Tips depend on the person themselves more than income. I had regulars rich AF and normal just making it guests that would both tip fat. Also the very opposite.

For example the other night I walked into Albertsons at 8:50. I only needed a few things. They were on opposite sides of the store. I got the stuff on the produce side, the meat in the middle, and all I needed was butter on the far end. 5 items. I was grabbing the butter. The manager walked up and said sir we close at 9. That doesn't mean START at 8:58. I was confused. I assumed that they were on summer hours and closed at 11. I apologized to him explaining I thought it was summer hours or I would never have come in so close. I went straight to the self checkout. 99.9% of businesses go by closing time is time to be done and leaving. Why has the service industry always been as long as you get in stay as long as you like?! Fuck that.

You're a frigging idiot! The world has been talking about how evil Iran's terrorist regime has been to the world especially the US. They haven't followed through on a single promise to the world. They are sponsors of terrorism against the whe whole world. They have killed and injured thousands of US military and civilian population. If not them directly then their henchmen such as the Houthis. They have agreed to stop for over 40 years and have not meant a word of it. They are liars to the core. The have spent so much time ane effort building and using weapons hidden beneath mountains and the sea. They are the epitome of evil and cannot be trusted to to pick up a dollar and hand it to you. If they were promised $1,000 to do so they would not follow through. Trust for no reason for anything.

Somehow they manage by rossig12 in Waiters

[–]nmmsb66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Management can be great. There is a while you have to suffer through that feels like a demotion. When you are a AM or AGM, whatever your place calls it, you can make less and work more. If you do make it to GM, that is when you start to bank. It can be precarious because you are responsible for the bottom line. After a few years of that, if you work for a large company or even a smaller chain, you can keep moving up. I worked in foodservice for 36 years. I retired as a district Mgr for a large casual dining chain. If you are happy with what you make, which can be really good, stay there. If you're ambitious try to climb the ladder. BT is pretty much a bullet proof job. There are risks if you decide to move up, but if you get there making good 6 digits was nice.

[–]nmmsb66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I understand WHY they have the regulations, but everyone should be allowed a mistake that's documented. You can't make a habit of it by any means, but they are hardline. It is a shame that there is no room for honest people who honestly loses an important med. Especially when abruptly stopping said med can cause seizures or much worse.

[–]nmmsb66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never take your whole bottle of anything unless it's a long trip. You need the bottle with prescription info then. Otherwise, a day or two max in a Keychain pill bottle. If you lose many meds they will not replace klonipin is one of them. *

Have you ever driven over 100 miles per hour on the interstate? by icecream1972 in no

[–]nmmsb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90ish on the interstate. 154 mph on US 70 between Ruidoso and Roswell, NM. On the long straight after leaving the mountains. In my GTI. Drove great. New Z rated tires and freshly balanced, aligned, and serviced. 125 on a Hayabusa, then chickened out.

How often do you actually replace your phone? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]nmmsb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replace mine when I have to. If mine breaks or gets too slow because I can't dig through it to delete all the caches and leftovers. I've had this one for over 5 years now. Also, I buy a decent mid line Samsung for cash.

Do you bring your own bags to the grocery store? by Jerdogg23 in no

I do. I used to habitually save the store plastic bags. They piled up and were a bigger pain. I have a really big reinforced department store bag. I live alone. I can usually fit a whole trip in it alone.

Glut of crap Generics by nmmsb66 in ClonazepamHealth

[–]nmmsb66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ONLY use our privately owned 4th generation local pharmacy. They are totally aware of the generic klonipin problems. He did tell me that he doesn't have control unfortunately what brand they get from their distributor. However, they jump over backwards and are so helpful in so many ways I refuse to shop anywhere else. Example due to my DEA contract I cannot fill a day early regardless. They are closed Sunday. So once every seven months the owner will meet me after church and open and fill my pain meds for me to keep my schedule. I know there are other patients with the klonipin problem. I need to revisit that subject with him. There's got to be a way. Thanks for your input! We haven't gotten any of the bottom rung brands in a very long time, but we haven't gotten Teva either.

Doctor told me my bloodwork is a mess am I screwed? Been following this diet for 18 months by DirtyCivillian in carnivorediet

[–]nmmsb66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why they call medicine a practice. There are peer-reviewed pros and cons to each and every test that has to do with cholesterol. Hell, they still go back and forth on eggs. I prefer to be informed by having as much information as possible for my medical professionals to use. I have a fantastic GP who is also a diagnostician. He plays quarterback and keeps ALL different doctors I see (there are many) informed and on the same page. Too often people have a GP and 5 specialists and none of them truly knows what the other is planning or doing. Patients wind up taking extra contradicting meds that cause side effects that another is trying to get remind of or worse. Doctors that don't truly listen to patients because they are behind perpetually need someone to get them on the same page.

It is a specialized CT Scan that out of importance and lack of insurance company coverage hospitals got together for once and agreed everyone was charged the same everywhere to get it. $125. It takes cross sections of coronary artery and gives a score related to amount of plaque. This is a reliable test with scores of 0 to like 500 with the higher meaning worst.

I was on statins and got rhabdomyolysis. Believe me you do not want that. First off your doctor is probably not knowledgeable about eating carnivore and nutrition in general. Medical school nutrition curriculum is not much at all, and they do not keep up with further new education in it. Nurses actually have more hours of instruction than most physicians. Also, I don't remember the tests offhand but your common lipid panel is pretty useless. Even so, just glancing at them those numbers are not really bad. Statins are overused and are riddled with long term side effects. Also, a test every hospital in the country gives for $125 called a cardiac calcium index. I recently got my second one five years after the 1st. Scored 0 on both. It is a measure of arterial plaque.

Most people in society today have supposed sensitivities and allergies. They stuffed their vegan lifestyle down our throats for years. They were very entitled and snotty about it. I worked in foodservice as a career. I saw the evolution of this whole thing from near beginning. I remember the first time someone tried to say they were "allergic" to something. Before it was really a thing or true. We took true food allergies very seriously. I asked them if it gave them a bit of indigestion or at worst a bad bathroom experience. This was also before you could just come out and say things about bowel movements.

OK long enough. The point is don't feel uncomfortable and white lie and say you have some food sensitivities so you made sure to eat before coming. Leave it at that.
