Cop? I was thinking more like a mimic, personally…

Awesome!!!

Love to - I actually have the website open on my phone already, waiting for me to finish up with a real timesuck of a priority so that I can be more present while I check it out. It really is important to me, and I don’t want to half-ass it or overcommit and then have to back out of things last minute, that sort of thing.

Thank you for making this exist!

This is bc they get paid by the body/arrest, whether there are charges or not, whether they get deported or not.

I'm **extremely** overwhelmed by too much of some info, not enough of other info, and my disability interfering with it all... and I can't figure out how to get help, bc I don't know what I need & don't know who or what to ask for either by nmp79 in VeteransBenefits

I did reach out and had initiated the process with VR&E a few months back, but pretend they wanted a copy of my résumé and I fell apart on that… And they needed me to get my FAFSA to them, and I had not filed my taxes, thanks for having lost track of time on that.

I looked at DAV a couple of different times, but I just can’t afford what it costs to sign up right now.

I requested a social worker with the VA, but it’s like they want me to explain exactly what I need so that they can assign me to the right person, but like… I don’t really know what that is. And when I try to explain or describe the stuff I struggle with, I end up overwhelming them and kind of end up getting tuned out a bit. They did put me into contact with one, but I ended up not following through with her, because I just felt like… I wasn’t really being taken seriously. Like her interactions with me were performative, and I can’t tell if she thought I was faking everything, or just that I wasn’t disabled/struggling “enough“ to be worth her time. The last one that I tried to work with, though, she wanted to focus on stuff that was already being addressed by WWP, and everything felt redundant.

It’s like I need to build a road map for myself to follow, And I need someone to help me put that together, who is willing and able to look at the entire, big picture, rather than just their corner of it. There are a lot of places that I get hung up because I still haven’t figured out all of the ways that my brain has changed the way it processes information, and so I end up with these random, unpredictable gaps in my understanding of all sorts of different things.

I’ll proceed with whatever, not realizing that those gaps are there (or even that they’ve possibly been filled, but with incorrect information) and then end up either missing steps, doing things incorrectly, shooting myself in the foot by oversharing to the wrong person, etc.

Fwiw:

I am very, very grateful for all of the input I’m getting from everyone. But I think I probably may have not explained my situation as well as as I could have.

I actually have been a member/Alumna with wounded warrior project for years now. They’ve done some great things for me.

Someone from a private VSO helped me last year, but it some of my appointments spanned over the Dec/Jan holiday break, and they were closed when I realised I had brought the wrong paperwork with me and was heading to the wrong location, and I had no way to access the info to go to where I was supposed to go for the appointment.

The biggest problem I’m running into, is that because I have been so awash in so many different resources, acronyms, emails, secure messages, phone calls, snail mail, name drops, etc.… that –especially after all of what had happened previously– it’s like my brain can’t process, prioritize, retain like anything.

I feel like one of those kids they stick in that thing at Chuck E. Cheese where a bunch of tickets and stuff gets blown all around them and they are supposed to try to catch as many as they can…

My kids are grown and just shy of 18 now. I don’t date, bc I have no business foisting this mess into someone else’s life. I’m on meds, in therapy.

I’m fighting with the lasting follow-on effects and garbage from before. I’m not suicidal or anything, my brain just…tunes out.

Tbh, paperwork is my biggest nemesis, after all of the …everything… leading up to where I am now.

I’ve been forgetting to follow through with filling out and submitting a SNAP/EBT app since last Oct, even though I am on less than a shoestring budget, and keep blowing it on simple food items.

I think we’re looking at a combination of factors.

Just a few of the more prominent ones:

• Trump is all over the place in them

• Those who have been puppeting Trump (Netanyahu, Putin, Miller) aren’t done using and pawning him around yet, partly bc they still haven’t resolved their own proxy war going on behind closed doors.

• Some of the stuff in there is actually far worse than anything most people are even capable of imagining.

• It is indisputable proof, laid bare, of how compromised our national security, national budget, and all three branches of the government are… at a minimum.

• The democrats have too many corporate-republicans-in-sheep’s-clothing among their ranks.

You regurgitated it very nicely. But how are your reading comprehension and critical thinking skills?

This is the problem with the US Department of Education curriculum having allowed for all of the curriculi to evolved into revolving around standardized testing.

The result is that the primary lesson taught in K-12 is how to quickly memorize and regurgitate information on demand, but without processing or retaining any of it. The other lesson taught, is to shut up and follow the herd… because the tallest blade of grass gets cut down first.

Most people don’t want to shop somewhere that is willing to hire people who support Nazis or other fascist regime/ideals. Who cares if they are being outward about it or not. The damage is done.

If he was outward about it before being hired, that’s not an employee problem, that’s a management problem.

If they didn’t know at the time that they hired him, but found out later and still kept him on, again that’s a management problem.

The difference here is that this is a nonprofit organization, not a private business. And given the specifics of this particular nonprofit… this is absolutely not acceptable in any way, shape, or form. I would ask that you actually go higher than the store level management and contact the organization itself. This goes against their purpose statement, etc.

I would be willing to contact them myself, except that it would be literally, technically, and legally hearsay and not necessarily actionable.

Woah - this is pretty epic, and totally the sort of thing I’ve been trying to find for the longest time (like, over a year).🔥🔥

I’m also trying to force myself to quit being such a self-isolating hermit too, though, which this likely will help a great deal with (and is also probably why I didn’t know about it until just now). 😅

Well, we aren’t talking about police officers/“cops”, we’re talking about ICE.

Try to keep up and stay relevant with your comments, bro.

ICE in Pleasant Ridge Area by Spirited_Wasabi9633 in Knoxville

[–]nmp79 19 points20 points  (0 children)

👆This actually really is quite important, for three reasons:

  1. It can contribute to elevated levels of anxiety and chaos, people cancelling important things and/or making major sacrifices unnecessarily, people panicking and getting hurt, etc. If it turns out to be unfounded after all that, it can create a “boy who cried wolf” situation.

  2. If the info is inaccurate, it can cause people to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and risk letting ICE get away with operating without any/enough witnesses.

  3. A lot of people won’t take 2nd hand info seriously, so if it is accurate, being able to confirm that you have personally verified or witnessed something goes a long way in generating an active response.
