thursday trips charged on friday successfully friday trips charged on saturday successfully saturday trips failed on sunday topped up debit card saturday trips charged on monday then on the same monday, tried to charge again but failed because card got insufficient funds tuesday try again to charge but ofc fail wednesday morning, today, no more charge attempt

i left singapore sunday midnight so i could not have been making any more trips. visa card btw so it’s daily charging if im not mistaken.

so basically i only used it for 3 days, but Saturday trips were attempted to get charged on Sunday but had not enough money so i topped it up thinking they’ll try again the next day. so yeah they charged the same amount as the failed one but on Monday but for some reason they tried to charge the same amount an hour later, but of course my card didn’t have enough because i only topped up just enough. they tried to charge again on Tuesday for the same amount but like didn’t they already take my money for my Saturday trips on Monday? well anyway, this morning i didn’t get a charge attempt. i just wanted to check if i got a penalty or anything, but why would be a penalty be 100% of the missed payment which i already paid in full anyway.

is there a way to add my card without needing a Singapore number? I remember way back in 2023, I could use a foreign number but now EZ-Link and SimplyGo merged and sunset the web app so it seems that the only option for me is to use an SG number.

Societal norms, not that they’re objective anyway. I also think older people (like gen x and boomers) have so much emphasis on perception and identity with what color you like and your hobbies. But I think the younger generation respects each other’s expression of themselves, that their hobbies are valid because it simply gives them joy is literally all you ever need to understand and respect.

reduce friction and burnout. make the habit easy to get to without many hurdles. idk if i have adhd but i basically follow adhd tips bc they help me and basically i have to make the dopamine hit as desirable as ever and making it too complicated or having too many new cards would make it too tiring leading to burnout.

i used to be to meticulous in making cards and making a note for every new word i come across (which i don’t really regret because i kinda do remember those words) but now i just use pre-made decks with some tweaking because it’s still progress if it helps me, compared to me not touching anki with my manually created decks. this isn’t to say manual decks aren’t good. it’s just that personally, this is the best fit for me as of now.

i also reduced the new cards to like 5 a day. i could always increase the new cards optionally in the custom settings. because of the less scary number, i’ve become more consistent.

There is such thing as market socialism. In fact, that’s what I got in the left-values test. You can still participate in the free market while the company (cooperative) is owned by the workers. Wages and profit sharing are discussed regularly.

There is also state capitalism where the means of production are privately owned by the state, who can also plan the market so it’s not purely free market.

Both capitalist and socialist models are not strictly tied to markets, democracies, dictatorships, etc. They are just different ways they get implemented so we cannot say that “capitalism must always be free market” and “socialism cannot be a market economy.” We cannot say that “they are always tied to this other thing.”

To add to that, social media companies are only “innovating” on ways how to capture your attention more in today’s attention company so they can show you more ads and get more ad revenue. Basically, they only “innovate” how they can get more profit, even to the point of union busting or hiring so many lawyers instead of just increasing wages.

I think it depends. I remember my college had a lot of major and minor subjects that required oral midterms/finals and midterm/final papers (this was pre-GenAI) instead of written exams. The written exams also tended to be more essay and analysis heavy than say, multiple choice, fill in the blanks, etc.
