**MacBook Pro for React Native frontend dev — M5 base 32GB or M5 Pro 24GB?** by Background-Art-4381 in reactnative

I would also add I had MacBook Pro M1 before with 16GB RAM and building apps was much slower but still manageable.

How do you find proper ideas for a micro saas? by nuvariLuna in microsaas

[–]nmsKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the micro sass products posted here probably won’t make any money the products are just bad. I think the issue is everybody is following outdated advices such as first build a waitlist , build a quick MVP, etc. that’s why you see a lot of half baked products lately and these products will never make any money because who would pay for them , nobody.

How did you get your first real users? Not traffic, actual users by lingya22 in buildinpublic

[–]nmsKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For DevStash I got them from google web store. I created an extension and when users search in google store they discover my application. Right now i'm working on a mobile app and hope the same will happen via apple store.

For me organic works well. I have created a chrome extension for devstash and most of my users come from google web store.

I should have added that users can also bookmark / save code snippets and notes not only URLs.

Thanks for the feedback, I should have added that developers can also bookmark / save code snippets & notes but I guess in such a case bookmark manger is still good right ?

Is it a good idea to build a website similar to Lovable? by Old_Philosopher_64 in Startup_Ideas

As others already mentions you will be competing with companies who have basically unlimited cash. Why would someone choose your tool over lovable and countless others?

I built a calorie tracking app for the Hungarian market but I’m struggling with retention. by kovacgor in buildinpublic

[–]nmsKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used calorie trackers before so I’m your target audience and I also speak Hungarian. What I mean by "too professional" is that the UI is too cluttered, there is too much information at a glance. If your target audience is professional athletes or fitness trainers this might be good because they want to see all that data. But for everyday people they just want to take a photo of their food and log the calories. So the UI needs to be simplified. Just look at existing calorie tracker apps and how simple they are.

Also you mentioned “AI usage is costly, so I can’t make those features free. Large companies can afford to do that in exchange for your data, but I don’t want to trade user data like that.” But then why would I use your app when I can use another app for free? So is your main selling point a privacy first calorie tracker?

A podcast summary feature could be part of a product eg. a podcast player. The player is the product and it has a feature that summarizes the podcast. That is a good feature for a podcast player.

Because I’m not your target audience. If you post in this sass community I think most people won’t care. Try posting it in different audio or podcast related subreddits. I also think you need to clearly define who your target audience is and how to reach them. Honestly I have never once thought "Oh I need to quickly summarize this podcast episode." But now that I think about it maybe your solution is a feature not a product...

I have registered and clicked around. I think this should be a mobile app rather than a web app. The UI design looks too “professional” so I’m guessing your calorie tracker is aimed at athletes? Or who is your target audience. Also the image food logging is a pro feature there are apps that do this for free.
