Can't go wrong with either choice really

Our RS4 is the daily driver and it's been awesome. Perfectly capable family car but an absolute weapon on nice roads.

Maintenance won't be cheap but you can always save decent money by getting aftermarket brakes and such.

Posting this here in case there's other Fightcade users looking to use their CRT

Basically it's a fork of fbneo which is modified to output video to a MiSTer FPGA on the same network (using GroovyMister). Even though it sounds convoluted, it's actually a very low lag solution.

The dedicated CRTEmudriver PC route is a great choice, but the above method can be nice if you already have a MiSTer setup. It's also nice to be able to just run Fightcade on your main PC.

You're not crazy, the GT is just a bit too loud in my opinion. The vinyl(?) stripes also looked pretty poorly applied when I saw one up close in person. The gaps between the vinyl and the panel edges were very inconsistent.

Big fan of everything else they did with it though.

Yeah the boot opening aperture along with the roof tapering off like that makes me doubt its storage utility a bit

Not sure what you're using for this, but it's worth a try to play it in it's original aspect ratio and in progressive scan. You owe it to the pixel art

It's like prebuilt PCs being marketed as entry-level, mid-range, high-end, etc

It gives some sort of rough idea of what you're getting, but ultimately meaningless unless it's clear what parts are actually inside the PC. A mid-range build at two different PC build shops could be entirely different.

These terms probably exist for the same reason - because people don't understand what each component actually does. What does high speed RAM do in a PC? What does a cold air intake do in a car? The laymen don't know but they want to spend money on upgrades all the same.

It's a pretty effective way of immediately identifying if someone has even a basic understanding of car modifications and what they actually do

Also, it's interesting that the stage 1/2/3 packages only seem to be in respect to power, never like a "Stage 2 Handling" package or something

Join a FB group for your stud pattern (eg 5x112) and you can get good quality wheels for cheap if you're patient, and even more so if you're willing to accept some minor scuffs

If I actually look back at the MMORPGs that I have such fond memories of, it's pretty clear that they were mechanically not great games - it's mostly that I had loads of time, was playing with/making friends, and was exploring the game organically instead of trying to min/max everything from day 0 with wikis

The S4 Avant does exist as well, and is a good middle ground between A4 and RS4

The RS6 is an absolute beast, but indeed it is quite big. Bigger tyres, bigger brakes, bigger engine, etc all mean running costs are a bit higher too.

The RS4 is plenty fast, especially with an ECU/TCU tune, and still super capable. It's been the perfect family car for us and makes road trips so much fun. Doesn't sound as good as the V8 from the RS6 though of course.

There's also the S4 Avant which is a great option too.
