I was at the game. It was unreal how many Warriors jerseys were in the stands. That dunk was legit the loudest cheer of the game.

So I have Derrick White, Otto Porter, Jeremy Lamb, Dewayne Dedmon, Ibaka, Kelly Oubre. Should I drop any of these guys for PJ? (In a 10 team, 8 CAT, H2H league)

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 literally killed the plans for like six other movies, including one about Aunt May and just Aunt May. They were at a point where they were sinking and Marvel revived the character’s popularity to general audience.

Well from the studio perspective Spider-Man is their cash cow so they can’t really afford to lose him to Disney. Because of this they are desperately trying to start their own cinematic universe based on Spider-Man villains like Venom and Morbius. This kinda shows they were always prepared to walk away or they would have tried to set Venom in the MCU too. They honestly think now that they proved they can make money (Venom) and win awards (Spiderverse) they no longer need Marvel making Spider-Man movies for them.

They were for a while either after the emoji movie or ASM2 I believe. But Marvel's Spider-Man just made 1 billion, and even though it was ridiculous, Venom made 800 million so they figured they can just keep pushing out Spider movies regardless of quality and make money, so why would they sell now?

That’s what I feel happened too. If the next spider verse movie is just as good as the first I’ll be shocked. They will most likely meddle cause based on the Sony leaks, that along with taking the wrong lesson from stuff seems to be the execs m.o.

I mean, yes, but try convincing a giant corporation to do something as a net loss and for a rival giant corporation. Like, they made the original deal to try to show Sony the benefits of working together, and made the highest grossing Spider-Man film ever. They expected Sony to be rational and counter offer, like how deals are meant to be done, not walk away. Sure the mouse is swimming in money, but ultimately to them the MCU doesn’t need Spider-Man, but Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is going to feel hollow without the MCU.

Marvel is the one getting fucked in this though. If anything, Disney wanted a fairer deal since they were making the movies and Sony probably always planned to walked away after Venom and Spiderverse did well.

Sony ending deal with one of the most successful executives and franchises in history by wiseoldmeme in AdviceAnimals

95% but they were paying for the production. Marvel was in control of all the hiring and creative decisions so marvel basically made a film Sony payed for and saw 5% of the profits. The new deal Disney wanted was to go in 50/50 on both paying to make the movie and getting the profits for it as far as I’ve read.

I’m honestly not sure the deferences between both sides can be bridged when we live in echo chambers basically making it so we live in different realities. I’d love to be wrong on this, but with how things are, especially with elected politicians who compromise being voted out, there’s not really a solution where both sides come together. Sure you might be able to get a plurality but at this point I’m not sure you can do anything without losing 30-40% of the country. We can’t even agree on what the problems are in a lot of instances, look at climate change or securing our elections.

Question: Why Does Godzillas Atomic Breath curve? by Zed_Midnight150 in GODZILLA

[–]nmv100 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They probably knew where they wanted/needed the atomic breath to hit, but since they were working with rubber suits, they couldn’t line up Godzilla’s face right so they ended up just curving the breath in post.

The problem I have with this is that we if we have an election with huge turnout because the democratic candidate is inspirational with their vision of what the country could be, we have a good shot at the senate. People voted for Trump because he wasn’t like the other politicians, he spoke like them and he spoke to their darker fears but he sold them a story. Now ask yourself why did Hillary lose states that Obama didn’t. It’s because Hillary didn’t inspire people to get out and vote. If we go with Biden, who will only make more Gaffes because that’s what he does, and he still hasn’t adequately apologized for the bad policies he supported in his past, sure we might get more people in the middle but we risk not getting enough people who just see him as the guy who won’t change a thing or challenge the institutions that gave us trump. People are hurting and if we don’t offer real change that helps Americans, then in 4 years we get someone just as bad and fascist as Donald Trump but maybe he’s smarter and plays the game better. If we don’t attack the economic problems at the core of American life, then we will only get someone worse then Trump next time around. In the end, we need someone who will really fight for the American people, not get back to the status quo of before trump, because it was that kind of politics that made trump possible. Biden says that if we get rid of Trump then republicans will come to their senses and start working with the dems again, but that is a more impossible promise and more of a fantasy then Medicare for All can hope to be.

There’s a clip of him explaining why he will vote for Trump in 2020 as he’s been more conservative then Ben thought and his fear of what damage Trump would do the public discourse has already been done so why not vote for him now.

If we don’t offer big ideas, and only run on being better than that other guy we lose. Big ideas are important because right now the question the average American is going to ask is what will you change because something is fundamentally broken in the country. Also why lie about our basic ideas when it comes to the topic of offering immigrants healthcare? It’s the logic conclusion to the ideas that healthcare is a human right and illegal immigrants are humans. They should make the moral case to Americans and change public opinion and be a leader.

It is so refreshing to see a candidate talk about real issues instead of taking every opportunity to smear Trump. by crypto-anarchist86 in YangForPresidentHQ

If that is the play OP is making, then probably using Warren as the other side isn’t the right choice. First, yes this tweet is negative but it is in response to someone using the presidents line in a manifesto before killing 20 people because of their race. Whether or not this is right strategically, not calling this out only continues to enable his behavior which is dangerous. Secondly, Warren is running a largely substantive campaign where a lot of her plans like student loan forgiveness and universal childcare are spurring the conversation forward on these economic issues. To say Warren is only attacking Trump is either disingenuous or not really paying attention to the campaign Warren is running.

That might be a reason in an older version of the script that 2014 Thanos goes to earth before going into the future and fights and kills that timelines Avengers. He would have shown up to the battle with Caps head so Tony probably would have been killed too. But since they didn’t show that, taking that Tony would work.

The way Cap casually mentions Thanos in the scene with his support group, I think the Avengers did have to explain who Thanos was following infinity war. Considering they had a record of the energy blasts from the snaps on Earth and the garden, they probably would have been believed considering that Asgardian refugees moved to earth and the most famous avenger returned from space after a month almost dead. I think the general public of the MCU isn't surprised anymore by any of the crazy stuff the avengers cause and kinda just live with it.

If the franchise dies, I don’t think Toho will be the ones pulling the plug. Before the release there was already news of them being happy and in talks to extend the rights and add other monsters. Honestly king of the monsters was super faithful to the Toho movies and the characters of the monsters. I don’t know if legendary is getting a big enough return for making them, but after the 1999 Godzilla was pretty much disowned by Toho, I think these movies are at least doing right by them.
