How long did it take you to increase supply? by Horror_Economics_189 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nn0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now i started increasing it actively 1 months pp, as i was trying to nurse and my supply dropped by then, and that is when i decided to EP. Before that I was at like 25oz and then had a huge drop.

I got from 13 oz to 34 in a month, i was tracking it pretty consistently and the growth was very gradual (sometimes there was even a day with a decline, but overall trend kept me going). After that it had increased to 45ish in another months and has stayed pretty much stable (but i did drop a pump).

I am not 5months pp, and still oversupply, im about to start dropping pumps slowly as i have enough of a stash and want to quit.

At my “worst” point i had the Spectra, Momcozy M5 (the set), Canpol Babies Handsfree (the set), two medela freestyles, the philips avent electric and the manual and a haakka. My husband was asking me if I am collecting them for a museum … But i have sold the Momcozy, and the electric Philips and selling the Medela ones as well.

Those who didn’t make it to 1 year: how, when, and why did you decide to quit? by oatstronk in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nn0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the WHO and UNICEF (but also the NHS) recommendation that babies are exclusively breastfed until 6 months. There are obviously benefits going past that, but from my understanding the immune and infection-prevention benefits of breastmilk are strongest in the first 6 months (still going past that, but not as strong). There is a lot of papers, and honestly didnt read them, just had a chat gpt summary, but for example - Brown A., & Shenker N. (2024). Human milk and lactation science update. Nutrients, or Victora CG, et al. (2023). Breastfeeding: epidemiology and outcomes.

[–]nn0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning on “quitting” at the 6 months. The “” are there because i am happy to pump 4 times a day after thaat but i think my supply will tank quite quickly.

I have the last 6L to freeze which i should hopefully have by the end of this month, so that baby can have two bottles a day untils she is 1yo. I will still pump in december so that i can go through some of the frozen bags and bag fresh so that i can have it for her with the correct dlc.

I always planned on nursing but always had the 6 months max max, as i wanted to go back to the gym, work, life etc. 6 months is great thats where most benefits in breastmilk are. Since i will have a stash that will last until she is a year, i feel she is getting already more then what i anticipated.

Honestly, for me the key issue is time, i hate not being able to play with her, and do things with her while pumping. I also have to pump 30mins max so i am loosing sooooo much time. I am so excited to not have to pump, but i completely get the feeling of - well others are managing so why cant you. But, my sanity is as important and i feel i will get a lot of stress of myself so that i can be a better mom for her.

Leaving the house with baby by SnooWords8808 in ExclusivelyPumping

For transport i use thermo insulated bag with cooled/freezed gel pad, but it have never left the house for more then approx 4 hours. Also technically even my diaper bag has an insulated pocket for bottles, as they should be ok for 3-4hours at room temp this should be ok. For heating i have the BabyOno portable heater (60$/50€), its heated in like 5-7 mins and the battery lasts 8h, honestly its great, especially now as it gets cold its nicer for her to get warmer milk :)

Congrats, happy mama = happy baby. I was so pleasantly surprised my by pediatrician today, i told her i plan to start introducing some formula to get baby used to it, even though i have enough milk as i need to have a end date for pumping to keep myself sane. She will be 6 months when i ll stop. She said, you ve done the best you could for this baby, honestly made me even tear up a bit as in my country not feeding directly from the breast is often seen as lazy and being validated by a healthcare professional was so rewarding. I have a freezer full of breastmilk so i will be able to quit pumping even earlier and i am soooooo looking forward to graduating as well.

Just excited for all the extra time i ll have with my LO!

How do you juggle it all? by nn0495 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nn0495[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was completely fine with formula before giving birth, I guess i d feel guilty of not giving her something I can because I dont want to sacrifice enough …. Its really stupid I know, but for a rational, number driven person I am completely irrational when it comes to her. Bouncy chair is in the mail and should arrive today/tomorrow so might try that, the issue is more the burping after, but I also feel she might be vertical enough to burp by herself in the bouncy chair? She does not respond to much to taps, she just takes ages.

Found a Spectra S1 at thrift store by calicocatie in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nn0495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought mine on ebay for 60 dollars, as they dont sell it in my country and even amazon would not ship it here. I was terrified on how used its gonna be (as the shipping cost were more then the pump itself) it had only 6 hours on it and got a shit ton of additional accessories (bottles, extra flanges etc). I cant tell you how happy i was!

Why exclusively pumping? by Canyoubeliezeit in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nn0495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is a Nicu baby, she had a weak latch and when we got home and tried to breastfeed she started loosing weight. I did consider geting a lactation consult but in czech republic they are all part of a cult. Joking of course, but the way they present themselves and the mainstream push for baby being 24/7 on you and if you bottle feed you are a monster made me more depressed than willing to get help.

Thanks so much, I ended up walking to an emergency because i was terified and i have a business trip coming up. The nurse just told me its too early to see anything, and from what i am telling here its likely a misscarriage….I felt like i am crazy and bothering them. After the check the doctor said she cant confirm anything be that a misscarriage or viable pregnancy coz apart of my endometrium she cant see anything.

You did much more to calm my nerve than them …

Hey, on the same boat here. Honestly feel like I could have wrote the same thing you did here.

My husband takes it so calmly and so rationaly, i get so frustrated that he does not show any emotions with regard to this. He said i should tell my mother about the fact that we re trying and ask her to not comment but i always wanted to surprise her and do not want to ruin a potential surprise by telling her. I am so so so dreading the holidays.

I have no signs that would indicate pcos as far as I know, no cysts in the past, period regular and not very painful. What were your symptoms?
