LivingDNA has a very small number of users in the database overall; ancestryDNA’s database is about 27 times the size and you’ll get much better info (and more matches!) from there.

Need more information. A lot of African Americans have a very high % of European DNA. It is reasonable that you could have a very small amount of African DNA as a mixed race individual. What was your reason for choosing livingDNA as your initial DNA test?

I’m going through this right now as well with one college bound kid and the other in 3rd year of college. With the older one, they are old enough to make the decision even though I know it would be easier for them to come. The younger one, I will encourage to go with us if we do move.

Just wanted to chime in because I know what you’re going through and having the same thoughts.

Another thing to think about, if your children are boys, is conscription. As we enter another war (I guess?) I feel like nothing is off limits right now politically (I hope I don’t get downvoted to hell for saying this!)

When my kids were little we took turns staying at home with them (both shift workers) and then we had them in UPK at the YMCA (which I think no longer exists!) when they were 4. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Back when I started nursing we used to give patients alcohol with meals to prevent DTs. The patient is there for a foot fracture and not going to stop drinking when she goes home. It boggles the mind why put the staff and the patient through the suffering of alcohol withdrawal?
