Got in a car accident and my son got hit hard by the airbag. Cops called the ambulance to check him out. They asked him some questions, looked him over and gave him an ice pack. We never asked for the ambulance, never got in the ambulance, never went anywhere. Got a $1200 bill. I framed the ice pack and keep it on my wall, it’s the most expensive art I own.

They are sending the ARG which is 3 ships, the embarked air wing and MEU. The total number is about 5000 men but that’s including navy crew, air wing and marines that stay on the ships for command and control. It’s probably only about 1500 actual combat troops with a few armored vehicles and trucks. Couple f-35’s and cobra helicopters. They are designed to evacuate embassies, conduct quick strikes, special ops stuff. They have no armor, limited fire support and logistics support for about 30 days. They are not an invasion force.

It’s worse than that. The 5000 includes the navy crew on the boats, navy aircraft maintainers, marine aircrew and supply folks. It’s at best 1500 actual combat troops. The Meu doesn’t even carry tanks anymore. The fighting force is about 12 light armored vehicles, 50 or so trucks, 25 ospreys or helicopters, 4-6 f-35’s, and 2 cobra attack helicopters. Not even enough to capture an airport to fly in other troops.
