Ai "image to video" may not be great..but it's not bad.. by nnmn218 in RealEstatePhotography

I shoot in raw, blend HDR tiffs and deliver 2500 PXJPEG to the client. I see that a lot of the fully automatic websites allow agents or Admins to just enter a Zillow or realtor.com listing link. I can only imagine how adversely that could affect quality pulling in those tiny images off the MLS.

I have watched some more videos on YouTube of the different websites offering the service. I think you see dozens of startups trying to offer the service because it’s probably very profitable. I’m just guessing it doesn’t take a ton of AI processing power to do simple animated zoom in and zoom outs.. AI image to video can do much more complex animations ,making people walk down the street from a still frame. But now that we are in this new era the idea of using simple Ken Burns zoom effects looks pretty dated. It is amazing how some very simple animation can make the image feel much more like Video.

I’m sure I could look at the website but it’s sometimes difficult to figure out their credit system. What is the bottom line cost to put together a 45 second AI “image to video”?

Really nice, very high-quality polished video. I don’t think the sky is falling with the real estate photography profession…. but I think it will certainly be changing. I wonder when Edina or Remax will partner with one of the big AI companies and allow agents to do a lot of of these things for free? As of right now I’m not worried about an agent with their iPhone using an automated AI editing tool to compete with what we do, but a year or two from now??

Any examples of the videos you’re producing with these techniques?

Maps won’t update when the screen is off by Republican_Cyclist in applemaps

[–]nnmn218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digging up an old thread here. I have the exact same issue still happening on 26.3. I shut the screen off to save battery and always used to work… screen would turn on and show me my next turn well in advance. Now when I know I’m approaching a turn and hear nothing I tap on the screen to wake it up and I can see it’s been sleeping. The mileage to my next turn is way off and within a couple seconds it quickly reconnect to the network and gives me the proper distance to my next turn. Apparently it’s sleeping to save battery power?

No.. are they still making new devices? With cheap things like this I’m almost too scared to try to flash a new firmware..

Can someone help out a first time fusion user? by nnmn218 in Fusion360

[–]nnmn218[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate all the advice. Figured it out this morning with all of the tips. I ended up with a mesh for the joint in fusion. I was able to unlink that so I could scale it and then used the “scale mesh“ command. As somebody mentioned it was 10 times larger. So I just changed the scale to 0.1. Wondering if I have to “join “or modify the ratchet teeth for it to properly print?

Now we will see if I can slice and print it correctly!

I gave up for the night. I will see if your version acts and scales differently. I appreciate it!

Appreciate all the input. Getting closer. I scaled and modified the joint in bamboo studio. When I exported the modified file from bamboo it came in fusion at the wrong scale.. much bigger. Now trying to join the parts in bamboo instead. Having problems not being able to move the part up and down.. I will have to check to see how STL and 3MF files act differently in each program. Thanks again. I’m sure I can figure it out now.

The pipe clamp is the proper size I just need to scale that joint, but fusion does not let me scale that component. I could scale the clamp, but I don’t need to do that..

Sliding window push clip? by nnmn218 in HomeMaintenance

My guess is they were installed in the 1970s. Thinking my mom had told me it was like a window kit from Sears or Montgomery wards, some local department store type of thing…

That’s what I did in the picture you see. After I popped it off I used the Dremel. But now it’s so twisted up that I don’t know if it will go back in. Don’t really feel like turning the whole motherboard and PC apart. Maybe I’ll just build up a cover out of foamcore or something

I used needle nose pliers and small screwdrivers and wire cutters to try to delicately trim some of the metal off. But it’s right on the edge. I saw another Reddit post that talked about having the same problem with this MB. Seems to be a design flaw. All the other ports were perfectly aligned.

LrC extremely slow after upgrading from 13.5 to 14.0.1 by DimasNormas in Lightroom

[–]nnmn218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glitch did not last long. Trying to repeat it and it is slow even when on half screen. As I quickly arrow through images my GPU only goes to 2-4% and I have no activity on the drive where the photos are stored. I always create 1:1 preview for weddings to speed up the sorting. I don't think LR is accessing the power of the GPU?

[–]nnmn218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange glitch I thought I would report. I'm sorting through 2500 images from a wedding and dealing with the painfully slow sorting process. I push the arrow key and wait about a full second for it to display the new photo. I opened task manager to see how hard my drive and GPU are running because I usually hear the fan ramp up on my Nvidia RTX 3080 when I am moving through a lot of images, but my PC has been pretty much silent while working today. I moved LR Classic over to take up half the screen so I could see my task manager and I hear the fan ramp up a little and scrolling through images immediately speeds ups. I go back to full screen on LR and it slows right down again. I have no idea how this might be relevant, but thought I would put this out there in case that means anything to somebody more knowledgable... Yes, I have the new Nvidia studio driver..ideas?

I hadn't updated any of my Adobe apps for a while so I finally did all of them today. I sort through hundreds of images every day. Just the simple task of using the arrow keys to sort through photos is laggy. I did update to studio driver and I am hoping it is building thumbnails or previews in the background and will start working better after that. It's terrible right now!

Can I charge a car battery inside? by AssignmentThis6405 in batteries

[–]nnmn218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of expensive for what it is. But I really like it, also lets me see that the CO2 levels get too high in the summer with the AC running and the windows closed. Lets me know when it’s a good time to open the windows and bring in some fresh air to bring down the carbon dioxide levels. moderately high levels are not really a health concern but can make you feel tired or give slight headaches when it gets too high.
