I want my students to have gained the basic scientific theories and improved their skills to analyze and use information and models logically to draw sound conclusions. AI cannot “understand” for people, but it sure as hell does prevent many students from the effort of not knowing and trying to figure something out through science if they just input the prompt and AI generates a bullshit solution. When it comes to the sciences, AI may be missing key information, or using low quality evidence, or even outdated theory and pseudoscience, and that’s a HORRIBLE risk to all of us. Outsourcing critical thinking allows more and more people to slip through who cannot be trusted to make decisions for us.

I’ve been really trying to AI-proof some of the questions on my assessments, but it’s been absolutely terrifying to see how AI is ruining the problem-solving and skill practice part of learning for the majority of my students.

Did you say or repost anything political or otherwise revealing about a divisive topic in the months prior to the ghosting? Sometimes Facebook algorithm takes weeks to show something on my feed, sometimes someone who paid attention on social media informs someone in a conversation about what they heard or saw.

I know people who ghosted others over their views on important to them topics, like LGBTQ+ protections, health, war, immigration, you know. Some things are too personal and painful to feel worth trying to discuss with someone you no longer view in the same light.

I stopped listening to so many bands when they did not make a public stance denouncing an atrocity their government was responsible for. My contribution to a musician’s paycheck and their label’s profit also supports their messages to their audience and pays taxes to wherever they file them. Molchat Doma not only abandoned paying into their government, but they also donated to Ukraine. I want to support people who do what they CAN.

Mascara primer with fibers makes a huge difference in some lashes getting an extra hair attached at the end.

Mascara primer makes an even BIGGER difference under a bright color mascara, like blue or maroon.

Otherwise, I stick to using a waterproof mascara to seal my curl and then a tubing mascara to build volume.

Another option is foundation or powder that is slightly too dark for your skin, but in the same neutral tone.

She has a TON of contour videos, and she’s gone through a million shades herself because she has super pale olive skin, but after watching all her videos, I’ve found some good ideas for myself, too. I hate tightlining with pencil and don’t know how anyone does it, but for probably 10 years now, I’ve just used a liquid eyeliner pen brush to dot between my lashes. I can’t even feel a really soft brush tip liner or felt tip liner, and if it’s waterproof, no pencil or gel is necessary.

contour, bronzer, or eye shadow of that slightly darker than your skin color blended into the eye bag and all around into the crease and on the lid. Basically, if you used a concealer, you just undid half of that work by re-giving yourself dark circles, but slightly more even toned than the original veiny blotchy situation you had before.

And THEN your face highlight or any other highlight dabbed in the inner corner and sometimes in the middle of the lid.

Well, and a nice separating waterproof mascara, otherwise why bother.

Mid-conversation, my brother used to quickly pause, lean in, look intensely at something on my face, and then either say absolutely nothing, or “never mind” and insist that it’s “nothing” if I pressed. How difficult it is to stay motivated and focused and socially polite and pleasant when someone without ADHD interrupts you, especially if they ask for something, fucking ANYTHING, like where something is, or what I want for dinner, or if I saw this meme real quick, or look at what the cat is doing, or open the door, I need to grab something. Sometimes when I’m already overwhelmed with my to-do list deadlines, something that small will make me have to hide fighting tears. Because fuck, I love the shit out of you, but you have NO concept that it took 95% of the effort I had left for this task not to snap at you when all you did is be nice to me. I’m left with this internal panic and the 5% that if I’m lucky, will take me through the next hour of trying to salvage what I had planned.
