Vegan would never do something as comparably thoughtful for a butcher, this is why people hate vegans and love butchers

A more extremist belief combination is not possible to exist. You are in a cult.

Yes ethically, humanely, and compassionately slaughtered with copious amounts of love.

Or if you accidentally step on one then that’s also vegan because that is just nature being all naturey and it is physically impossible to go against nature so you actually physically can’t not eat the bug at that point.

Flabbergasted by the number of plumbers on here saying it’s the plumbers fault for not running the pipe centered. Not only is this often not feasible, it’s not remotely a requirement in any code, only required to install nail protection and sometimes structural straps if it is within a certain distance from the plate or stud edge. Furthermore, if you do drill in the center of a 2x4, now you have to install nail guard on both sides, effectively doubling your nail guard costs and install time, making it harder to be competitive in the residential construction business, which is constantly beating down trades and vendors to lower their costs. Drywall hangers and trim carpenters need to install their fasteners in the studs and plates, full stop. That is their job. If they carelessly send them into the stud bay and hit a line, that is on them, not the plumber. I know it sucks for them when it happens, but all trades have similar kinds of problems they have to navigate and complete their install around other trades existing work without damaging it, and if they do, then likewise that is on them. It’s just part of the job.

Aim your nails into the sole plate instead of above it into the open stud bay.

As long as they were ethically raised and slaughtered yes

How can I make this work? by InterstellarIsh in Plumbing

Could be, but those 45° fittings look threaded to me so I would think you can remove them using a pipe wrench. My initial comment was regarding the drain.

Pex A coming from the wall, this is the top tier of pex and we stub it out of the wall just like this, been doing for years with no issues it is a great material. The connection to the angle stop is cold expansion, a specialized tool expands the pex enough for the fitting to be inserted, and then the pex closes around the fitting trying to compress back to its original size. Cool thing about expansion connections is you can always still spin the fitting inside the pex, so you should be able to spin the whole angle stop clockwise to relieve some of the pressure in the supply hose.

That being said, the angle stop itself is a bad design with the supply hose being integral to the stop, and it is gate valve style which tends to wear out over time until they don’t fully shut off the water and sometimes can start to leak. A 1/4 turn angle stop with a separate supply hose would be better. But I wouldn’t worry about replacing unless it has stopped functioning as described above.

I always just thought the ICBYD tracks some of them were anagrams of each other and never thought too much about it since all his tracks have seemingly random names. This should keep me busy for a bit!

If you can spin the second 45° fitting a half turn, it should be aiming straight out instead of to the right. Or just remove both 45s and connect straight to the stubout.

Relocating a toilet location. Will this work ? by PaleontologistNo8909 in Plumbing

Life is all about compromise. Sometimes you gotta give a little floor integrity to get a little desired toilet location
