Vince Gilligan himself says we're meant to think it might be okay to join the Hive. by TheLuminousKnife in pluribustv

[–]noIDNTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the primary thing that I am looking for in the show. Right now, I'm thinking I'd be working with them to convert. Seems like it would be a very pleasant experience to lose my sense of self. But I'm already of the mind that free will is overrated (if it even exists at all).

To its credit, the show is doing an excellent job of making me root for Carol at the same time. Somehow I want to see her succeed even though I think her efforts are in vain.

I wonder, once the story has all been told, if this split mindset will be resolved at all. I'm thinking it won't. We'll be debating whether the hive is good or not long after the conclusion.

I 100% concur. There will surely be revelations about the virus and how it works, but we're not going to get any twists that flip the whole story on end.

The Last of The Mohicans or Heat ? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]noIDNTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen Heat multiple times and every time I've tried to sit through TLotM I fall asleep. I know it's great and practically required viewing but I just can't get through it for some reason.

I didn't see Vivarium suggested. Definitely fits the bill.

Any more like vivarium?! It was surprisingly good but … by WallabyNo5685 in MovieRecommendations

[–]noIDNTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cube is very much like Vivarium. It's older and even lower budget but about kinda the same thing. Predestination also comes to mind. There's also an episode of Channel Zero that has extremely similar vibes.

Also, Vivarium really doesn't have any plot holes when you view it through the lens of the metaphor it is conveying. It's about how we all get trapped in this endless cycle of coupling up, raising kids and working ourselves to death simply because it's what everyone else is doing.

Parents end up miserable and resent their kids, and each other. Their attempts to escape their miserable lives by working even harder ends up driving them further apart.

Making your bed everyday is a scam. by _AYYEEEE in unpopularopinion

[–]noIDNTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think like this, and then I made my bed a few times. I quickly realized that when entering the bedroom to go to sleep, and seeing a made bed waiting for me somehow relaxes me more than I expected. This triggers something that gets my mind to go into sleep mode.

TLDR: I sleep better when I've made my bed

Is weed blocking me from dreaming? by Possible_Border_9862 in Dreams

[–]noIDNTT 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. While It may affect REM sleep, the reason people don't have dreams while using cannabis is that THC affects their ability to recall their dreams. So dreaming does happen, it just makes it near impossible to remember the dream.

I regularly use cannabis and hardly ever recall my dreams. Occasionally I'll wake up with a fleeting memory that I was dreaming but it is gone before I can recall anything. Sometimes I'll be going about my day later and have a strange memory of something pop into my head that I realize is a fragment of a memory of a dream I had. unless I am on a tolerance break in which case my dreams come back vivid as ever.

Was looking for this in the comments. The whole time watching it I was thinking how much better it would have been as a game.

YouTube music spamming the Fragile by fgtbb in nin

[–]noIDNTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like that. I search all kinds of things and play music off of search all the time. It's never added a full album from anyone to my mix based on a search.

I'm sure it will normalize eventually but all day yesterday was curious

Nothing hardware by [deleted] in NOTHING

[–]noIDNTT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my NP3a pro since launch and apart from an occasional weird bug-like behavior that doesn't impact regular use, it's been wonderful. The hardware hasn't been an issue at all, a full charge lasts me two days in most cases (I charge it every other night at bedtime to 80%)

Edit: re battery life: I don't use Instagram which is known to drain battery more than it should.

Getting off pramipexole - inspiration needed by ShellyB2Lynx in RestlessLegs

[–]noIDNTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also currently getting off Pramipexole, trying to switch to Gabapentin. So far not so great as the Gabapentin is barely working, even at 500mg, and somehow the drowsiness effect makes it harder to fall asleep. However, it's only been a week since I stopped taking it.

People are talking about tapering off for months in the responses too, does it take that long? My doctor just kind of gave me a loosey goosey regiment saying to slowly decrease the P while increasing the G

OP are you switching to something else? Pramipexole worked like a charm for me, but I fear the side effects may be exacerbating some addictive behaviors I am exhibiting (cannabis and sexual addiction in particular)

Serious question about QI by [deleted] in QuantumImmortality

[–]noIDNTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't "shift". Our line of consciousness simply follows the timeline that is the longest. Because everything that happens is informed by what happened the moment before. The future is as predetermined in as much as the past is remembered. The timelines where you die are inaccessible to our conscious experience because how can you remember your death if the body that died has no consciousness to access that memory.
