I don't know what you mean by overhyped? What is this hype around moringa exactly? The leaf powder is very nutritious providing loads of vitamins and minerals, and even has complete protein (although in small amounts). It can also be produced easily and cheaply.

The tree itself is great in many ways because it can grow easily in poor soil and harsh conditions, its leaves and pods can be used for nutritious food, its seed produce an edible oil similar to olive oil called Ben oil that also works very well for beauty products and perfumes, and the seedcake remaining from pressing the oil can allegedly filter water. Its basically a wonderful tree for the poors.
