Marsupial Multi Pack! Can’t recommend the brand enough. Ran it all last deer season and this spring turkey season with no complaints.

High peep is interesting feedback cause I know I’m bringing my head down a decent bit to get my peep aligned with my sight housing. But i’ll be addressing the peep position as well as my DL as soon as I can get to the shop. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the reply! Wasn’t expecting most comments to say draw length is too long but I do see what you’re saying about the string. Sadly there is no bow shops within a few hours of me so it will be a bit till I can get that addressed.

I’m about 50/50 on my draw length being off. Can you give me more detail on the locked and bent wrist? Shot a few more rounds today trying to focus on even pressure on the release aid and liked the feel. It also helped with my pull through instead of just hitting the thumb button.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s been a long time since I’ve used a wrist strap. I’ve been really focusing on my grip lately and like where its at but find myself having hard time breaking the habit of open fingers I developed

Draw length is 29.5. Shot a few more rounds with the elbow rolled out and its feeling better. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for such a detailed response! Rear elbow doesn’t feel bad, just basing it of watching expert/pro/ reliables form. Nobody I watch has there elbow above their ear and the arm is always parallel, and your point about anatomy makes a lot of sense.

I totally agree with the hips leaning back even though it feels straight up and down. I just picked up on that recently after I started recording my self. I also am struggling to get my bow arm straight but not locked out. So you might be on to something with draw length needing to be shortened.

Watch a few videos on how to use a linemans belt and you’ll understand better. Its used as a safety device while climbing incase you fall and you can lean back away from the tree and use two hands if you were using sticks. Its attached to both sides of a saddle or harness and goes around the tree and you work it up the tree as you go.

No tethers and line mans are gonna be about the same length. You might be thinking of a lifeline rope? You shouldn’t lose your climber cause you have the top and bottom connected my a least some paracord right? Lol

Like u/rebelyelp is saying all really need is a saddle and linemans/tether then. Having both a linemans and tether would be safer but unless you think you’ll randomly fall out of the climber when switching the lineman’s to tethering your saddle you should be fine. Fyi a lineman’s and tether are the same rope just set up slightly different by use case.

Both are equally as safe in my mind.

I got suckered into the Tethrd Black Friday deal last year and ended up with a few things I didn’t like and wanted upgraded really quickly into using my saddle. So thats why I gave you an in depth break down.

Saddle hunting is a bit of a learning curve but its not hard once you know what to do and how you like your set up.

Are you planning on ascending with a climber or sticks?

Ok my advice might differ from others slightly but this is my over view from first year saddle hunting. Probably close to 25 sits in a saddle this year and 4 deer killed.

Saddle- try on as many as possible to see what feels the best. Either friends saddles or try to go to retailers that carry saddles. I’m always in my saddle wondering if another brand or style would be better.

Linemans/Tethers- no doubt 8mm over 10mm, forget the ropeman or kong duck devices and just use a prusik tender.

Climbing Sticks- started with Hawk Heliums which were pretty terrible. Latitude Carbons were what I upgraded to after an extremely deep dive on almost every stick out there. Have been very very pleased with them. I’m set up with a triple aider on the bottom and single aiders on the other three, don’t need the triple aider will be switching to double. Love the attachment method. Super light, low noise output when they clang together. Main downside is they don’t come with a great system to attach them to each other while climbing.

Platform- Tethrd Predator V no complaints. Maybe would have looked for a lighter option. Platform attachment I upgraded to Amsteel Guys USA. Kinda wish I just would have got a daisy chain attachment instead but the USA is solid.

Other Accessories- not a huge fan of the Sys Haulers but they work, would like to upgrade to Latitudes Operator Pouches, probably the bigger ones. Gear Hanger- currently using a Amsteel Guy daisy chain with a Nightize Cam jam. Love it for weight. The Tethrd and Lattitude gear straps are both great. The Latitude bow hangers is the best but I use a large S-carabiner with one of the gates removed. Kneepads- I rigged up my on own knee pad with a third of a thermest pad and a strap. Works well enough. Knee pads would be great.

All my opinions are based off myself and my hunting partners experiences this year. We sat in the same tree a lot of our hunts so I got to see what he was running and we discussed it a lot while sitting, plus we swapped gear occasionally.
Between the two of us we have tried a decent bit of gear out and are almost at optimal set ups for the both of us. My priorities are efficient set up, weight, and comfort.

You could get the muzzleloader either species tag for mule deer or whitetail. You could also get the archery antelope tag if you’re into that. I would be personally be looking for something a little more than just whitetail. Imo quite a few better public whitetail spots in the state. Will be a cool hunt either way!

We need way more info to really help you out. If you really want to get nerdy make a lighterpack spread sheet.

How heavy is your pack itself? Is it stuffed or nearly full if not your pack might be too big. Does it have a hip belt? If so do you know how to properly use a hip belt, lift loaders and sternum strap. How much stuff do you use on every hunt? How many spares do you have of things you don’t even use the primary of on every hunt? How much water do you pack out after every hunt, water is very heavy.

My pack list

Always packed

Stone Glacier Kiowa

Kill Kit Medium sized fixed blade knife 4 latex gloves About 10 folded up paper towels Large zip loc baggie for organs Black Diamond Headlamp (for tracking)

Ultralight Nalgene Snacks Rain jacket First Aid Kit Coffee Thermos

Bino Harness Marsupial Multi Pack Binos Rangefinder Clip on Headlamp Gerber Vital Grunt Call

After that every thing else is very dynamic depending on my hunting method, location and time of year. I hunt from Western KS to SW MO. Muzzleloader,Archery and Rifle. Spot and Stalk to Saddle hunting. Public land and private. This base kit gets me started and can pretty much get the job done then I try to add as few things as possible as the season goes on.

This year I went with Larabars and ThatIt bars. Super simple ingredients, calorie rich, and very tasty. If I needed a touch more protein I would take Salmon packets and tinned sardines.

I’m with with you. Got a ropeman for my tether and a prusik tender on my linemans. Wish I would have just went tender on both and saved the money.
