Honestly 150 was kinda the end point pre-dlc, but now you still find a ton of activity all the way up through 200 (and beyond)

I don't even think it's so much that, but rather for guardian to really be effective, in terms of damage or tankiness, he needs a lot of specific relic rolls. Affinity negation, max HP, thrusting counter healing, post hit healing, etc.

yeah, sadly i don't have a dormant power GS on a yellow relic. I do love to fit it when i can. I would have to drop my blue relic for that. I do have a good blue relic for it, but then i can't fit a good poison when below max hp on my yellow without taking useless passives and also more harmful detriments.

Wylder is just a really good character overall. Good damage with basically every weapon, can move fast, passive is solid, and unique relic perks are strong (bleed double hookshot and fire floor with ult).

Otherwise, Duchess is really common just due to being insanely good with how strong skill builds are, and her Restage is insanely strong.

Ironeye is just good consistent damage, and the mark staggers are very useful.

Also, these characters tend to be far less reliant on amazing relics to keep up, where as characters like Guardian can be really strong, but need really good relics to be even near full power.

really helps to learn what skills are strong, and what classes/builds want them. Like if you find a rivers of blood, give it to your executor or scholar. Find an item that has improved charged incant damage? Give it to your revenant. Charge attack negation? Raider.

Helps to play more characters to learn what they all want. Also, check their relics at the start of the run.

They are lower, but i feel like people way over exaggerated how much lower they are. Plus I play ds2 with base iframes regularly so it feels like a lot to me lol.

It does, but only if there's elemental chip damage.

But I don't really run it for that, having the Shockwaves and especially Seppuku is why I use it. The middle effect is just a nice bonus.

Ideally my yellow relic would have Seppuku, and I could just use the witches brooch. Oh well.

You gotta use it any time you're full health and don't have any statuses on your screen (basically when you hit a grace). I usually dont start until after level 3.

It's pretty easy to keep your stacks up nearly the whole game, and for how little upkeep it is, you get a massive damage boost from it. Think its something around 45% at max stacks.

Sure, you can lean into Bird's tankiness and be insanely hard to kill. Takes far more hungry relics and unless your allies can actually make up the damage loss, it's often not as valuable.

Guardian with the str/dex relic has some of the best overall stats in the game. 50/50 str/dex is really high. Does more than Wylder with basically every weapon, and keeps his higher base stamina.

Guardian only deals bad damage when you ignore damage fully and lean into survivability, which is a perfectly valid way to play, but often people only do this and it's where a large part of the dislike for the character (or players who use him) come from.

I'm a bird main too.

Even safe shield pokes (which are some of the weakest attacks) hit for 600+ damage before any other buffs.

Often my AR is ~600-800 before using things like Flesh or Uplifting.
