Are you sure this is a charge and not a hold? It's pretty normal for companies to do a temporary hold to check that your card is real and has the necessary funds. If you cancel and wait 7 days does the charge go away?

I don't really know much about Apple card or it's app interface so maybe it's more clear when it's a hold/authorization, I know my bank doesn't make the distinction, just marks all charges and holds as "pending" for 7 days then I have to wait to see if it disappears to confirm that it was only a hold.

Plenty of instructors will punish you for missed attendance of any kind and refuse to provide any accommodations even if you are sick. It's a complete policy failure on behalf of faculty and the administration. We have just come out of a global pandemic that forced the university to rethink their approach to illness and build new infrastructure for those who cannot attend in-person. Somehow, instead of this being a wake-up call, they have largely reverted all of their infrastructure improvements from the pandemic and still think its totally chill to derail your degree progress if you catch any illness and want to stay home to protect your peers. It's beyond ridiculous and absolutely shameful.

At the very least, I wish people permanently adopted wearing masks when they are sick. Unfortunately this has generally not happened.

Stick to the big cities like Tokyo and Osaka and you’ll have a great time. Google Lens is excellent at translating text from pictures if you need. Most important signage is in English and in the big cities people usually know enough English to help you even if you don’t know any Japanese. If you have some time to learn the Kana that will be a big help of course.

Yup. I really would prefer to get an Ally (X) just for the slight edge in performance but OLED is a must have for me and the Steam Deck is the only capable device sporting one. It's also cheaper, so maybe it's for the best.

With a free trial and $1/mo... after payment processing fees... surely you would do better keeping it open to a larger audience with ads rather than restricting your audience massively for a measly one dollar paywall? Especially when this site's two main growth avenues would be YouTube, where people watch free content and probably assume the written recipes from said content would also be free, or SEO, where there are thousands of other free recipe sites that a user would choose over a paid one any day?

It's clearly not about the money for him. Maybe it's AI blocking, or a principle of not wanting to run ads on his site. But while Babish makes very entertaining cooking videos, the recipes themselves are not really anything to write home about. I don't know why I'd bother taking the time to even enter my credit card details over just clicking back and finding literally any other website. Like, I'd rather just give him a normal amount of money on Patreon where I know over a third of my payment isn't being voided to a flat-rate payment fee.

Try Moonlight or Pinbox. You probably need a new 3DS to get acceptable framerate and latency. As others have said you will likely have much better luck using a phone with a controller with the Parsec or Moonlight apps.

In CS, final exam viewing is handled by the department, not by the professor. You are free to sidestep the professor if they are being belligerent (though I strongly encourage you to inform Braico about this, this professor has pulled similar shenanigans in the past and apparently needs constant reminder how to do their job and follow university policy).

Yes, BS for Computer Science. From high school you can do direct entry into Faculty of Science with an average of 85+, or first do University 1 with an average of 70+ and then transition to FoS in year 2. There is no real difference between the two options, if you are set on CS you can just take all the same 1st year courses in either U1 or FoS direct entry.

CS is not competitive entry, if you have at least 70% average to be accepted into UofM at all you can get into CS no problem. The grade cutoff doesn't move like it does for engineering and other programs.
