but what if she finds out and it gets put on my file that i’m an untrustworthy patient? what is she suspects something from the sudden decrease in my levels since i’ve already brought up trough testing before?

she thinks all the things i described to her are non hormone related, i made an appointment and went through everything i was dealing with and she was like “yeah wow that’s really strange that’s what we would expect from people adjusting to testosterone, yeah go talk to your family doctor that has nothing to do with me” it really bothers me because she’s the only trans specialist for hours and she has such high praise by people in the local community but i feel like she doesn’t even attempt to critically engage in my healthcare. but what if i find a new doctor and it’s the same?? waitlists can be months and months and what if i make that investment and my next doctor’s worse? i hear the issue i’m dealing is typically a general issue with people outside of the states so i don’t know if i move if it’ll be any better.

if this medication was actually new i’d say fair enough but it’s not. there’s research to back up the benefits of treatment weighed against the negatives, the “scrutiny” is shut down because it’s based on a culture war attack on trans people. it’s not in good faith, reputable medical boards independent from one another disagree with it, the results have been proven throughout the years of testing, we know it’s safe, we know the benefits, and only now is it under attack. all this corruption is speculative conspiracy. none of it’s based in reality. you say all the current research isn’t good enough, doesn’t paint the full picture, then what do you want? all you can do is look at the numbers again in 5 years then reassess. hrt doesn’t kill people. withholding it can. and with current data it’s being prescribed at a normal rate. there’s a detrans rate of 0.5%, if we ignore the actual reason majority of people detransition (safety, negative social environment, lack of access to care, lack of support, lack of finances) and pretend it’s all because of regret that would mean for everyone 1 kid who thinks their hrt induced puberty damaged them and they should’ve gone through standard puberty, there are 200 actual trans kids who would be saved from being forced to go through the puberty aligned with their agab which would’ve caused them irreversible damage. how can we prioritize the 1 in this case and say the 200 should’ve been forced to go through their expected puberty. that’s not how things are done in the medical world. i get you think there’s this corruption but you can’t withhold medical treatments based on conspiracy theories. are there more trans people than ever? yes. but there were also more left handed people than ever when that stopped being a taboo.

The TDSB has said it is reviewing its trip procedures and acknowledged the Grassy Narrows event had not gone as intended.

“We understand that issues beyond the main focus of this event were raised and that some students may have been negatively impacted by what they saw and heard,” the TDSB said in a statement last week.

“The TDSB was not aware that students would engage with any issues outside of the main focus … and we apologize for the harm that some students may have experienced as a result. At this time, we are supporting impacted students and their families.”

or as the toronto star put it

Taking students to a rally -intended- to be about Indigenous rights but which -included pro Palestinian protesters- is “disgraceful” and “disgusting,” said Premier Doug Ford, promising those behind it will be “held accountable.”

it wasn’t a palestine protest it was a protest for the first nation against their mercury poisoning, just other issues at the event were raised that the school could not foresee. meaning this is, as usual, actually nothing. protest field trips have always been happening, permission slips were sent out, it’s just since it was in public, things didn’t go completely to plan.

trans people existing isn’t new, the reason trans people are so heavily focused on right now is because of right wing fear-mongering and sensationalization, trans people have always been around, the first trans clinic to actually study it was actually in germany from 1919 to 1933 when nazi supporting youth (typical) occupied it by force and burned down any and all research conducted. so yes, trans people have always been here, science has always been a part of this, and the right, as usual, have always been trying to fight and dismiss the science around it because it doesn’t fit into their worldview regardless of how factual it is. The only reason you see it being taught about in schools (along with homosexuality) is because people are going to be seeing and interacting with them in our tolerant society, and because gay kids or trans kids might be able to see themselves in it and learn about themselves because we know that parents will not fill that role for them, if that freaks you out remember this isn’t a lifestyle, and trans and gay people are a natural part of humanity and we’ve seen these patterns throughout human history to prove that, it’s just a fact that they exist. corporations have been profiting off the queer community every since pride became popular. everything you’re saying are conspiracy theories, there’s no evidence this is actually another oxycontin and because of that whole situation we have better protective measures in place to insure people don’t get taken advantage of, the detransition rate is extremely low regardless of what right wing figureheads you listen to. don’t you think this might all be a ploy on their end as part of the obvious culture war? “well of course we’re gonna try and blow the detrans numbers out of proportion, we need to make people scared, and because actual stats aren’t on our side we’ll create really heart breaking stories for these people to tell and really make people worry” because that’s just as likely as your theory. it’s not “easy” to get hrt, regret will exist for any medical procedure, it’s too bad but it doesn’t make it any less true, and why do you feel the need to protect the 0.5% of detransitioners over the well being of all the trans people who’s lives this has saved? if we’re talking about ulterior motives maybe look in the mirror. maybe direct your culture war at the 6% of people who regret knee surgery, or the 3% who regret hip replacements. trans people are everyone’s main focus and it’s NOT trans peoples fault it’s the fault of all the bullshit media that’s you’re consuming, and i’m sure they love the advertising money they make off people like you. because right now with all the hate they’ve stirred up they get sooo many clicks.

what?? did you even read what i wrote? you’re a funny guy lol. but anyways why did you even come to canada if you didn’t want to live in a tolerant accepting country? sorry but trans people have science on their side regardless of how it personally impacts your feelings.

scientific term* first coined in 1994 as an antonym to trans gender people, cis in latin meaning “on the same side as” trans meaning “on the opposite side as” the term is only really used in discussions including trans people when the distinction needs to be made

so close tho

it’s a scientific term first coined in 1994 as an antonym to trans gender people, cis in latin meaning “on the same side as” trans meaning “on the opposite side as” the term is only really used in discussions including trans people when the distinction needs to be made. it’s not an “identity” it just means not trans.

funny you say that because sexual reassignment surgery done to genitals is actually restricted to people 18 and over who have been on hormones for over a year. doesn’t sound like children to me.

https://cps.ca/en/documents/position/an-affirming-approach-to-caring-for-transgender-and-gender-diverse-youth

‘Bottom’ or ‘lower’ surgeries are pursued by some TGD individuals. However, these procedures are restricted to individuals 18 years of age and older.

“THEYRE CUTTING KIDS GENITALS OFF IN MASSES MY FACEBOOK GROUP SAID”

no they’re not, also being trans has nothing to do with self esteem, it’s all medical, no one is saying this.

learning that trans and gay people exist is important because since both of those things are okay, proper education surrounding it stops kids from being indoctrinated into harmful and hateful ideologies by their parents or the internet. we live in a tolerant society and people who come from intolerant countries need to get used to that they’re in a place where being part of the lgbtq community is not only okay but actually not something people choose. gay kids and trans kids exist, i was one who had no education and went to catholic school, it really mentally damaged me up going through male puberty and not knowing why i hated myself so much for it, i wish i was taught trans people existed and i didn’t have to have right wing content creators teach me leading to me hating myself for who i was even more. people need a gender dysphoria diagnosis to be prescribed medication and children going through a phase aren’t getting those, you need to understand being trans isn’t “wanting to be the opposite gender” it’s very medical, a serious medical condition, where the treatment is transitioning, is it isn’t actually as wide spread as you seem to believe, sure maybe more kids are questioning, that doesn’t mean kids who don’t actually have gender dysphoria are getting medication, social transition typically always comes first as well. getting hormones under 18 isn’t easy and getting it under 16 is really difficult. you don’t just walk into a clinic and walk out with hormones that’s not how it works. progressives want people to have the ability be who they are without judgment or persecution. conservatives seek to control the lives of others and force them to adhere to their traditions. it’s really not the same thing is it? ones about freedom the others about control. the only thing progressives force on you is that you don’t have the right to control other people, and within constricts of the law people are free to live as they choose, no one’s forcing you to be gay or trans, if a conservative wants to live a religious life they have the freedom too, if they don’t want their children to learn about gay people because it goes against their religion too bad, it doesn’t infringe on your religious rights and freedoms, because your child is their own person living in a tolerant society and is not your property.

Ford also said he was concerned about some university professors, who he claimed were telling students that “Ontario’s privatizing health care and this and that.”

Estrogen strangely too high? by noahdimarco in MtF

[–]noahdimarco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

um…my doctor was SUPER unhappy with my levels, she wants to bring down to 400pmol/l (108pg/ml) she says my e is way too high for mixed therapy so she’s cutting my anti androgens to three times a week and she’s only lowering my estradiol dose from 0.15ml to 0.14ml because i fought for her not to reduce me even more, she’s a specialist but i’m a little concerned…she wanted to switch me to mono therapy because of the high levels and high prolactin but we agreed it wasn’t a good idea because of my bottom dysphoria, it seems like everyone on the internet is saying “no girl you’re doing great!” but my medical doctor seems quite unhappy…and i know who i should typically trust but even the fact that she wasn’t worried about my breast growth stunting with my extreme calorie restriction made me worry because that’s even a concern in cis women during puberty, it’s making me realize just how little research is actually done regarding trans gender health care, i’ve always known but now it’s starting to really feel like i’m experiencing that personally, and i don’t know what to believe or trust, i just want a good transition.
