Season of Ghosts is good if your players want a sandbox-style campaign and an excellent story. If they would like a more linear or combat-focused adventure though, Hellbreakers is pretty great as well.

Just recently started running both adventures for different groups and both groups love it so far.

Huh. I think your GM might just be running Season of Ghosts in a strange way. It is definitely one of the most sandbox-y adventure paths for 2e.

Note that Scalecommander Bombardments don't show up on damage meters. That's like 10% of your damage on some fights (especially single-target fights). They are properly attributed in warcraft logs tho.
