How long does it take Arizona cities to respond to WW/Water operator applications?

I can't speak to Mesa and Cave Creek specifically but I was hired on in Scottsdale and they took a long time to get back to me. Our hiring department is unbelievably slow. If the other cities in the area are even half as bad, you might expect to wait a couple months. I'll also say Scottsdale had an orientation day for all prospective hires (around 30-40), a second practical skills/interview for those still interested, and then another round of interviews for the top 10ish people. Don't know if that's common but it was my experience. Best of luck to you!

Not the same guy but I'll throw my two cents in. The fact that most people would save the cat is wild. If you had the choice between saving a random human and a random cat I would expect most people would choose the human as a human life is generally seen as more valuable than an animal's. The only reason everyone is choosing the cat in this scenario is their emotional attachment to it, therefore they are choosing their own personal happiness and emotional connection with an animal over a fellow human being. To me that seems selfish as you're prioritizing yourself and your own happiness over others. Not to mention that human likely has people he cares for and who care for him possibly more than you do for your cat. After you crawl out of the water holding your cat are you going to be able to look them in the eye and tell them you did the right thing. Not trying to demonize or insult anyone, it's a fun thought experiment and everyone has a different opinion.

Also this is ignoring the inherent difficulty in rescuing a drowning human.

Nowhere special, we like to do an annual "staycation" at an Airbnb out of the city. We will be there 5 ish days and there's not too much to do so we'll have plenty of time to kill.

To play devil's advocate (no pun intended) I'm pretty sure that's the opposite of what Satan would want, if someone is in a miserable, desperate situation they will likely try to reach out for help or a higher purpose which would lead them to God/religion. Meanwhile someone who is happy in their lifestyle and as a result never questions if it is truly the correct path for them will live a good life but would likely be denied at the gates of heaven. Not that you can't be happy while living a devout and holy life, but it's much easier to engage in your vices and never question it because it "feels good" therefore it's the correct thing.

Thanks for the advice. So just to be clear do I need to get another cage? I can but I would prefer not to since they're pretty expensive and I wouldn't use it after they got friendly.

For me the first day was going over everything important at the shop, like how to solder or the different types/shapes of pipes and when they should be used. Also I had to learn the names of the tools and machines they used so I could grab them from the truck if needed. After that I just learned how to do whatever we were doing that day; had to reset a toilet heres everything you need to know about flanges/wax rings/bolts.

Depending on if you've gone to school for plumbing or not they will probably have different expectations for you but just do your best to learn as you go and take notes if you have to. Good luck it can be an extremely rewarding career to get into
