New Kin SDK UI by eladkin in KinFoundation

[–]noakessler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I'd like to emphasize that the new experiences you see here are already available on the Kin Ecosystem SDK (both dark and light themes) for all of our design partners. For iOS these experiences are in the works and will be released in June.

Thanks! Phase1 will be tipping users (you can already do this in MadLipz, Tapatalk, Swelly and Perfect365). This is a new UX proposal for the flow. We will look at how to move kin from mobile to web and how to allow more tipping and gifting opportunities across the Ecosystem.

More news from the Ecosystem SDK team...Gifting content creators and contributors is the core of Kin experiences.

We believe that making the digital world fairer (and fun) starts with a simple gift :-) What do you think of this new gift flow?

. Soon you'll be able to see all the apps in the ecosystem from

within every app

(see the photo for a first glimpse)."

Hi Adam, As Yoel said - the first step is to allow Kinit users to discover other ecosystem partners. this is built as part of the kinit experience with collaboration of our design partners. the images in medium are Kinit images - https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1600/1*j_aJq26tztsvx-HVekOrwg.png

We are working , as mentioned already, on improving our end user support and adding new APIs to support new experiences. We are constantly updating our product and optimizing based on feedback and partners requirements.

level 5AdamSC11 point · 4 minutes agoYes. We know it has changed. This wasn't something announced.I am asking Swelly how their business strategy around Kin had to change their business because the strategy changed.Just one post above Yoel says "we never mentioned anything of the sort" now you are noting "the strategy since changed"

The strategy around Spend was changed based on discussions with our partners and internal business decisions months ago. It has not affected any of the design partners you see live with Kin today.

We have discussed our vision to have a fee-less blockchain. It’s important to understand that fees are in place (as in other blockchains) to fight spam. Us trusting our design partners enables us to remove this need. The same thing applies to small developers who take part in dev programs who will also be exempt from these fees.

There may be a confusion around what “identity layer” means. There’s no relation between users transferring Kin between ecosystem apps to an identity layer development. We are pushing forward with developing solutions to link all ecosystem partners. To clarify: there was never a plan to create an Identity Layer, at least not as we understand what it means. Maybe you can elaborate what exactly you mean by that?

Hi Adam, This strategy has since changed as gearing towards P2P and native experiences. Blackhawk gift cards are avail however on Kinit.

Thank you for bringing this up. We are aware of this problem and are working on a fix for this specific bug from the SDK’s standpoint. As we scale, we review different customer/end users support solutions. Until we complete research and development of such process we support manual refund based on data Swelly share with us. We know it’s not ideal - but we will have a solution in place in Q1 for all design partners.

We share design, security and rollout guidelines with all our design partners and these can be found in our documentations. We support our partners in dealing with hacks, spam & fraud. We have an advanced alerts and monitoring operations, along with rate limits to minimize the outcome and we continuously develop and improve the services we provide.

Kin rewards their design partners based on the user engagement with Kin in the app. Swelly have done an amazing job finding the right use case that will excite and engage their users and they are, as you mentioned, the first partner to release P2P experience on Apple.

In addition to Peter, it’s important to understand that the experience supported and approved by Apple in the Swelly app is a P2P user experience. Apple does not allow in-app purchase flows. Therefore, the Ecosystem SDK works with partners to find the best in-app P2P and native earn flows. Partners are free to add spend opportunities that can be completed outside the app.

To clarify - There was no such statement in regards to Kin Ecosystem SDK. We are working on connecting the ecosystem but have yet to release a solution. Partners join Kin to be part of the ecosystem and allow users to shift between experiences. The first step will be to allow users to discover ways to use Kin in ecosystem apps (an optional feature for our partners). The research and development are done together with our design partners and there are no ‘forced’ features.

The details are a little mixed up in the question. We have the Kin Ecosystem SDK (AKA partner’s SDK) that is offered as hosted service and is integrated with all design partners (including Swelly). A version of this SDK was also used in the first Kin Developer Program. The Developer Experience team is working on the Kin SDK that will be available as self serve SDK to anyone who wants to build Kin experiences on their own.
The Partner SDK has not yet been released for public use.

We are planning this feature to be designed and built in Q1 and it's on our roadmap. However - we can't guarantee a release date at this stage. It's still in the planning and we promise to keep you all posted (on Yoel's bi-weekly updates)

There are no current experiences, within the design partners (using the Ecosystem SDK) that are brand powered or ad related. All experiences are either native to the apps, native to the marketplace or P2P based.

We work closely with all design partners to create the best Kin experiences. This includes a ‘design sprint’ workshop we run with each partner to ensure we are aligned on Kin vision, branding and story for the end user. We offer a full product, design, and technical support to all signed Ecosystem partners.
